Please share for Opie. 🙏
Going on four months at Angel Ridge, Opie has been passed over time and time again. But we have hope and faith that some dear, kind, loving soul will open up their home to this very worthy, 26-lb boy.

Too old, we are told. Opie is 13. Yet, he walks with joy and absolutely adores affection from people. ❤️🐾

Visitors insisted they couldn’t separate him from Wilma, although we said time and time again that they were fine apart. We eventually moved them to two different buildings. Walkers would bring them out to walk together. They were quite nonchalant about seeing each other. They are fine apart, and Wilma was thankfully adopted.

It is stressful for any dog to be in a shelter, especially when they are 13 years old. It weighs on them.

Another obstacle for Opie is he’d be best as an only pet. He and Wilma were very briefly adopted together to a home where there was another dog. Opie chased the dog and barked at her. He doesn’t want to make new friends with the dogs at the rescue either, and he will most certainly chase a cat.

Again, we know you are out there, and we know that our supporters will help us find you by sharing dear Opie’s post far and wide. They will help us find the person or people who will show Opie that he is so deserving of love. They will treasure him, even if he’s 13. They will find the beauty in loving a dog who may only have a few years with them. They will save him and they will fill his last chapter with so much love.

Meet Mutt Damon!

Mutt’s story makes my heart hurt. 💔 His owner abused him, and Mutt had to spend a year at animal control - as if he were the prisoner - until the owner’s court date.

He’s only 3 years old. That means this poor boy who first suffered at the hands of his owner, spent a third of his young life locked up.

Angel Ridge intervened and saved him from an even worse fate at animal control when his hold was up. Mutt Damon deserves a chance at a good life where he’s loved. ❤️🐾

After all he’s been through, Mutt Damon is a sweet boy who’s good with handling. At 55 lbs., he’s still too thin, but we are helping him gradually gain weight.

As you can imagine, Mutt is eager to get out of the kennel and get outside. He can be strong in his exuberance to get out there and live life! He’s a very active boy who loves to play. 😊

Mutt Damon would likely do best in an adult home because of his excitement, strength, and energy. Mutt will need a cat-free home. He’s a smart boy who will learn if you lovingly teach him. He already knows sit and happily gives paw. 🐾

Meet Hash Brown 🩵
He is a super sweet boy. He loves to play and to explore every inch of a home; an active home would suit him well. He is beautiful with extra soft fur that feels like a little teddy bear. He gets along with other cats and would adjust well to a calm dog.

He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and negative for FIV and FELV. Indoor only and no declawing.

Meet Home Fry 🩵
He is sweet and playful, his favorite toy is a feather on a string; he will show you how high he can jump! He loves to explore and have fun. He is a bit shy at first but once he warms up to you, he will be your best friend. He does well with cats and would do fine with a calm dog. Home Fry is in foster.

He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and negative for FIV and FELV. Indoor only and no declawing.

I don’t mean to brag, but we sure do have some good-looking pups at Angel Ridge!

Petey (the black and white dog who happens to be deaf, but Meg has no idea!) had a fabulous play date today with our sweet, little athlete, Meg! They ran and danced together…and maybe they will dance right into the hearts of some loving families soon! 🙏

Petey is a year and a half old and weighs 51 lbs. He sure is hoping to find someone who will give him a chance. He’d likely do best in a calm, adult home with someone who has the time to spend with him. I can’t wait to see this boy flourish in a loving home! He’s very smart and would love to learn with you - and we have an expert on deaf dogs who will help you out! ❤️🐾

As for Petey’s pal, Meg - she’s a great gal! She’s lovely to walk, she’s playful (as is Petey), and she’s played with a number of our dogs. She’s also quite friendly with people. Meg will need someone who’s not a couch potato to walk her, play with her, and make sure she has an outlet for that beautiful brain and for her energy. She certainly has a joie de vivre! ❤️🐾
