SAY THEIR NAME…💘
I lost Izzy incredibly tragically, traumatically and unexpectedly a couple years ago. 🌈💔
I spent a lot of time thinking about our grief culture and talking to others about it since losing him. Our society expects people to bounce back quickly, appreciate the time we did have and move on. Most of society is afraid to say their name. The person grieving feels like most people don’t want to hear about it anymore so they stop talking about them. Others are always afraid to bring them up and “make you sad”. When someone brings up a lost loved one to me, it’s not a reminder to me that they died… you are letting me know that you remember that they LIVED and that their life and our bond mattered deeply!
On the anniversary of his loss every month, in memory of Izzy, I have been doing a “Say Their Name” post. It’s a place for you to share with us about a lost loved one you are thinking about and still grieving the loss of. It’s a place to keep their name and spirit alive. Just because they are no longer here, does not mean they don’t deserve to be remembered. Who are you thinking about?
SAY THEIR NAME. 💘
