I’ve loved cats since I was a toddler. This girl, Molly Jane is 8 years old and developed a terrible allergy. She couldn’t stop chewing on her tail base and her belly. It has taken 2 years and lots of different foods to figure out why she’s had to have a ‘donut’ on for nearly 2 years. She’s finally free and we’re down to one spot that’s healing.
Allergies! Chicken, soy, peas and legumes!!! I have spent late nights researching cat food ingredients until I fell asleep. She’s even on Prozac to calm her down.
Peas are in almost every pet food, because it’s a cheap filler, so is soy and most legumes.
But peas are bought hard and dry, added to cat foods and in almost all of them. Cats intestines are shorter and can’t properly digest this, even though it’s so small. It causes an issue in the lining and comes out as irritation on their stomach, abdomen and tail base! AND It took me nearly 2 years of research to finally fine an article about it. Wow.
The only dry cat food free of all of the things that cause her issues is Inception cat food. Luckily my other cat are fine when I have to shift food brands. And also luckily, it’s not as expensive as some of the foods we’ve tried.
So now they are on Inception dry fish recipe cat food and love it.
Molly is getting healthier every day.
Just thought I would post this in case anyone is struggling with allergies.
