Have you ever heard of a vacuum effect? 🤔

A vacuum effect occurs when a population of animals is permanently removed from their home, and there is a temporary dip in population numbers. Since the resource rich area is now inhabited, other members of the same species "move" in from neighboring areas, and repopulate the once-empty area. 🏠😻

Before you know it, it is like the original population was never even gone!🐈🐈🐈

The vacuum effect is exactly why euthanasia and the removal of Community Cats in their homes does not work. This is why the "R" is TNR is so vital to lowering the Community Cat population over time! Once the cats are spayed & neutered, bring them back to their homes. The cats will be healthier, happier, and will not be repopulating to continue to deplete available resources. 😸💗
