Doggie Day Camp is all about fun, fun, fun! Past and present dog training fur clients are welcome to join me for private and group . It’s similar to doggie daycare in that the dogs get to have fun but different in that, unlike a typical doggie daycare: 1) there are a small handful of dogs, 2) I do maintenance training (aka: passive training) with all of the dogs, 3) the dogs get outdoor time, and 4) we change up what we do depending on: the dogs attending, the weather, etc.

Thank you to these (Trouble, Howie, Stella, & Clint) for joining September’s Community Pack Walk & Cleanup event (starting with bagels from ). In addition to this trash bag, the humans picked up 2 additional grocery bags of trash. Cleaning up the community while walking a dog is a good opportunity to practice: patience, calmness, “leave it,” loose-leash walking, handler awareness, etc. Visiting a food establishment with a dog is a good opportunity to practice: calmness, sit stay, down stay, “leave it,” etc.

Bagels, Community Pack Walk, & Cleanup

WHEN: Saturday, September 30th at 9:30am
MEET AT: Pearl’s Bagels
BRING: Water for yourself and your dog(s); additional recommended items to bring include: poo bags, a collapsible water bowl, a trash picker, gloves, a plastic bag (to collect trash), hand sanitizer, etc.
DURATION: approximately 1.5-2 hours (with breakfast and breaks)

By participating, each individual agrees to the following RULES:
* Dogs should be vaccinated and in good health.
* Each individual should double check the collar, head harness, harness, slip lead, etc. to make sure that it is properly secured to the dog(s) BEFORE arriving to the event.
* No flexi / retractable leashes.
* Do NOT touch a dog without permission.
* Do NOT let your dog(s) approach a dog without permission.
* Keep play to a minimum while walking (to avoid riling up other dogs).
* Each individual is responsible for the well-being of themselves and their dog(s).
* Reactive dogs and muzzled dogs are welcome (so long as muzzles are securely fit and the owner has a handle on the dog).
* Picking up trash is optional, not mandatory.
* If picking up trash impedes your ability to maintain control of your dog, please focus solely on your dog.
* Individuals who don’t own a dog but would like to participate in the community pack walk and cleanup are welcome to attend.

Swipe to see my newest fur client. This is Remy. He’s a 1.5-year-old . I’m working on teaching him a handful of things, including learning to stay out of the kitchen. One thing I’ve decided to try to help Remy (and some of the other dogs I train) is mapping out the area I don’t want the to enter using to give them (and me) very clear visual guidance while we work on changing the behavior.

Come join me and my for a (free!) group on so we can tucker out the dogs before the fireworks. Getting your dog tired with structured exercise is one thing that can help your dog to relax. We are starting early so we can beat the heat.

Reactive dogs and muzzled dogs are welcome (so long as muzzles are securely fit and you have a handle on your dog). Everyone is welcome to join! Please be mindful of the rules. Patriotic dog accessories are encouraged. 🇺🇸
