At Union Veterinary Clinic (UVC), we believe every pet deserves the best chance of finding their way home if they ever get lost. That's why we encourage pet parents to microchip their furry family members!

📊 The numbers speak for themselves!

🐶 Dogs: More than 52% of microchipped dogs entering shelters were reunited with their families, compared to just 22% of dogs without microchips.

🐱 Cats: More than 38% of microchipped cats were reunited with their families, compared to less than 2% of cats without microchips.

💉 Microchipping is quick, simple, and can be done during a routine wellness visit or spay/neuter surgery!

At UVC, we use HomeAgain ISO-compliant microchips, which also meet microchip requirements for entry into many countries. 🌎✈️

🚨 IMPORTANT: A microchip only works if your contact information is registered and up to date! Be sure to register your pet's microchip and update your information whenever you move or change phone numbers.

🦷🐾 Dental Cleanings & Extractions at UVC: How Does It Work?

Dental care is an important part of your pet’s overall health! At Union Veterinary Clinic, we perform dental cleanings and tooth extractions Monday through Thursday.

If your pet needs a dental procedure, here are a few things to know:

🗓️ Schedule early. Dental appointments can be booked through our front office team. Availability is limited, and we’re often booked more than a month in advance, so we recommend reserving your preferred day as soon as possible.

💳 A deposit is required to reserve your pet’s appointment. The deposit is applied toward the cost of the dental procedure. Please ask our team about cancellation and rescheduling requirements when booking.

🩺 Pre-anesthetic bloodwork is required. All pets must have bloodwork completed within 3 months of their dental procedure to help determine whether general anesthesia is a safe option.

🍽️ Dental cleanings are performed under anesthesia. Pets should begin fasting at 8 p.m. the night before their procedure. Water is permitted.

📋 Need an earlier appointment? Ask to be added to our Dental Waiting List. If an earlier appointment becomes available due to a cancellation, we’ll give you a call.

🐾 Meet Dr. Massre, UVC’s Assistant Medical Director!

Originally from sunny Cooper City, Florida, Dr. Massre is a proud “Double Gator,” earning both his undergraduate and veterinary degrees from the University of Florida. 🐊🐊

As Assistant Medical Director at Union Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Massre helps care for our patients while supporting our medical team. His veterinary interests include preventive care, internal medicine, and emergency medicine.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Massre loves hiking and exploring beautiful landscapes, often with his dogs, Marshall and Mango, by his side. 🐕🥾🌲 One of his goals is to visit every national park in the United States!

From severe weather to unexpected evacuations, having a plan in place can help keep everyone in your household safe, including the four-legged members.

Keep essentials like food, water, medications, veterinary records, carriers or leashes, and current ID information ready in case you need to leave home quickly.
