I think a lot of overwhelmed dog owners are actually just overwhelmed humans trying to survive the day.

And sometimes behavior isn’t about dominance, stubbornness, or “bad dogs.”

Sometimes it’s stress.
Pressure.
Disconnection.
Overstimulation.

For the dog and the human.

The more honest I’ve become about my own struggles, the more differently I’ve started viewing behavior altogether.

If you’ve been feeling alone in this season, this is your reminder that you probably need support more than shame.

I’m going live inside my membership May 31st at 6PM to talk more about the connection between overwhelmed humans and overwhelmed dogs, and how it quietly affects behavior in the home.

I think a lot of dog owners are actually just overstimulated people trying their best.

And sometimes what looks like “bad behavior” is really just two overwhelmed nervous systems struggling to understand each other.

The more I learn about dogs, the more I realize relationship changes behavior more than constant correction ever will.

That’s exactly the kind of conversation we’re having inside my membership.

I’m going live May 31st at 6PM, and we’re talking about the subtle ways connection gets lost between dogs and owners, without us even realizing it.

I think a lot of us accidentally turn our relationship with our dogs into constant correction.

No.
Stop.
Leave it.
Get down.
Wait.

And after a while, everything starts feeling tense.

Not because we don’t love them.
Because we’re overwhelmed too.

I’ve been realizing how much dog behavior lives inside the relationship itself.
Inside the pressure.
The frustration.
The energy in the room before words are even spoken.

And honestly…
I think a lot of dogs are responding to disconnection more than disobedience.

That changed the way I train completely.

Not softer.
Not permissive.
Just more aware.

I’m building something around THAT.
Not just obedience.
Relationship.

I’m going live inside my membership this week to talk about the subtle ways we disconnect from our dogs without realizing it.

Both dogs are being friendly. No tension, no drama… and I’d still keep it moving.

Leash greetings aren’t about whether dogs can handle it, it’s about what they start to expect.

When your dog learns that every walk = meeting other dogs, you start getting:
• pulling
• fixation
• frustration when they can’t say hi

That’s where reactivity starts building.

Real socialization isn’t constant interaction… it’s neutrality.

Your dog should be able to see another dog and keep it pushing.

You don’t need a dog in this video to understand the problem.

Most people try to train their dog when everything is calm, quiet, and controlled.

But real life looks like this.

Busy. Overstimulating. Hands full. Brain full.

And if you can’t show up with clarity and direction here…
your dog won’t follow you out there.

That’s the part nobody teaches.

Not just commands, but how to lead your dog in real life.

If your dog listens at home but not outside… this is why.

Comment DOG and I’ll send you how to fix it 🐾
