🐾 August is National Immunization Awareness Month! 🐾

Keeping your pet's vaccinations up to date is one of the easiest and most important ways to protect their health—and the health of other pets! ❤️

Vaccines help protect pets from a variety of serious and potentially fatal diseases.

Dogs: Distemper, parvovirus, rabies, and more.
Cats: Feline leukemia virus (FeLV), feline calicivirus, rabies, and other contagious diseases.

Many of these illnesses spread easily between animals and can be life-threatening, making prevention the best defense.

At Paws on the Hill, your pet's health and safety are always our top priority. We encourage all pet parents to check with their veterinarian to make sure their pets are up to date on recommended vaccinations before their next pet care visit.

🐾 Healthy Pets = Happy Pets!

Take a few minutes this month to review your pet's vaccine records and schedule any needed appointments.

🐾 Friday Trivia Time! 🐾 Did you know that a dog’s sense of smell is up to 100,000 times more powerful than a human's? 👃🐶To put that in perspective, while we can smell a teaspoon of sugar in our coffee, a dog could smell that same teaspoon of sugar diluted in a million gallons of water (about two Olympic-sized pools)! 🏊‍♂️Can your pup always smell when the treat bag opens? Tell us your funniest "sniffer" stories in the comments!

☀️ Summer is almost here — and so are the heat risks for our pets! 🐾

As temperatures rise, it’s important to help our furry friends stay safe, cool, and hydrated. A few quick reminders for pet parents:
💧 Always provide fresh water
🌳 Avoid long walks during peak heat hours
🐶 Check pavement with your hand before walks
🚗 Never leave pets in parked cars
🦟 Stay up to date on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention
✂️ Keep coats groomed, but don’t shave double-coated breeds too short

At Paws on the Hill, your pets’ comfort and safety are always our top priority during walks, visits, and outdoor playtime. ❤️
