New chapter, same passion for paws! 🐾

We’re excited to share that Dr. Camden will be stepping into her new role as Medical Lead at our Navy Yard location beginning November 1st! 🎉

While she’ll be changing home bases, she’s definitely not saying goodbye! Dr. Camden will continue seeing patients in general medicine and surgery while expanding her passion for physical rehabilitation and veterinary acupuncture.

And because we know you love getting to know the people behind the scrubs… here are a few fun facts about Dr. Camden!

🧗‍♀️ She loves rock climbing
⛸️ She ice skates
🤟 She knows some ASL

We’re so excited to see all that she’ll bring to District Vet Navy Yard and hope to see plenty of familiar faces (and paws!) there. 🐾

Congratulations, Dr. Camden! 💙

Happy first day of fall from all of us at District Veterinary Hospital! 🍂🐾
Sweater weather, cooler walks, and lots of good boy/girl energy in the air. Here are a few quick reminders as the seasons shift:
🍁 Watch out for mushrooms popping up on fall walks some are toxic
🍂 Keep an eye out for seasonal allergies.
🐕 Flea & tick prevention still matters through fall
Drop a 🍂 if your pet loves crunching leaves as much as we do!

🎆 Happy Independence Day from all of us at District Veterinary Hospital! 🐾
While we celebrate our nation’s freedom, let’s not forget our furry friends who don’t quite share our love of fireworks! Here are a few tips to keep your pets safe and calm tonight:
✅ Keep pets indoors during fireworks displays
✅ Provide a safe, quiet space (crate, favorite blanket, or a cozy room)
✅ Make sure ID tags and microchips are up to date
✅ Never leave pets unattended outside, even in a fenced yard
✅ Ask us about calming aids if your pet struggles with noise anxiety
From all of us at District Vet, have a safe and happy 4th and give your pets some extra cuddles tonight! 🇺🇸🐶🐱

💛Juneteenth. ❤️Freedom. 💚Legacy.
The story of veterinary medicine cannot be told without Black Americans. From Dr. Lushington earning the first Black DVM in 1897, to Dr. Alfreda Johnson Webb breaking barriers at Tuskegee, to the founding of the Tuskegee School of Veterinary Medicine in 1945; their contributions shaped this entire profession.
We honor that legacy today and every day. 🐾

What a weekend at Crispus Attucks Park! 🐾 We were so proud to sponsor Bloomingdale Community Day and spend the afternoon with the best neighbors (and their pups) in the city. We served up pupcups that had tails wagging, cheered on some seriously impressive competitors in the agility contest, and even took home Best in Show honors! And if you caught us in the musical hula hoops contest... yes, we won that too. 🏆 Thank you, Bloomingdale, for having us — see you next year!
