This kitten was barely surviving when she found him 🐱

When Renata found Renatinho near a small grocery store in her neighborhood in Sobral, Brazil, he was skin and bones. She brought him to a vet, where tests revealed just how sick he was. After his first medicated bath, nearly 400 grams of scabs came off his body.

There were moments Renata worried he wouldn’t make it, but the tiny kitten kept eating, seeking affection and getting a little stronger each day. Eventually, she adopted him herself.

The first time Renatinho slept stretched out in his new home, Renata knew he finally felt safe. Today, he’s healthy, playful and rarely leaves her side. And for Renata, who was recovering from nearly two years of depression when she found him, caring for Renatinho became a source of hope, too.
