Owl Ridge was able to rehab an adult Red Tailed Hawk last month.
His finder (and transporter) is in the beef business.
He has been sending photos of either our hawk or his mate (very likely as he was released back where found), and today he sent this very cool drone video.
He’s bush hogging and an adult Red Tailed swoops in to hunt!!!
As the field is mowed, lots of potential prey is exposed.
Apparently it was a very successful day.
I just love this.❤️

Two special guests are going back home today.
Caesar and Betsey have resided at Owl Ridge since back in April.
If you all recall, a tree fell onto the enclosure at Dollywood.
Caesar was one of the three that escaped. He was caught and brought here for a vacation haha.
Betsey was dangerously stressed from the tree falling on her enclosure and brought here for medical evaluation and also a vacation hahaha.
So, Katelyn came to gather them today and also band two birds in rehab ( a Great Horned Owl and a Red-tailed Hawk) that are almost ready for release.
We will miss seeing Betsey and Caesar here at the Ridge!
We wish them well!❤️🦅
We still have four Bald Eagles in care here at Owl Ridge.
These are wild birds in rehab.

Owl Ridge travelled the roads today.
First, we had a wonderful children’s program at Bennett Gallery (thank you Bennett), and then off to Harris House for the launch of the Farmland Raptor Project’s Grant Award Kick Off and Workshop!
Owl Ridge is working under the Cornell grant awarded to MTM and Foothills Land Conservancy.
We are so proud to take part in this conservation initiative ( thank you MTM and Foothills Land Conservancy).
Stay tuned as Thistle and Astrid will be on the road educating!!!

Owl Ridge had the privilege of visiting the Episcopal School of Knoxville.
They were a great crowd and very engaged. These kids will grow up caring and loving our wildlife and making a difference!
We are very grateful for strong community relationships.
