After a long, 12 hour journey… blown tire and all… we made it home! After hitting the pothole, we immediately checked the donkeys. It was quite a hit. Mojo and Mirage were happily eating hay like nothing happened. Then, after the tire ended up blowing, while on I40, they continued to act like nothing even happened. Thank goodness these two have so much experience with traveling and it didn’t scare them. Even the impact wrench, which was very loud, didn’t even make them budge. So thankful that we made it home safe and sound! At the end of the day, we had such a fun weekend with everyone and our donkeys!

Thankfully we are all okay and back on the road. While pulling off to get gas, going only maybe 15mph, we hit a pothole that was about 8” deep. When getting gas, we checked everything and thought we were okay. Well… after we got back onto the highway, the front right trailer tire blew. We had a jack and we were able to get the tire off but the nut was stuck for the spare. We ended up needing assistance. A cop and state trooper came and helped get us roadside assistance. Luckily, we had water and a fan for the donkeys. After about an hour, we were back on the road, just grabbed another spare, and have 4 hours till we’re home. So extremely grateful that everyone was okay. And thankful for the awesome authorities that helped us today. Let’s hope that the rest of the way is smooth!

About 7 hours till we’re back home. These two travel so great. Always say hi when I say hi to them!

Beyond proud of these two donkeys. HHAA Smitten’s Tennessee Mojo, our 4.5 year old herd sire, is now an NMDA National Champion for Non-Driving and an NMDA Reserve Champion Halter Jack. SAMD Optical Illusion, a future brood jennet of ours, is an NMDA National Champion for Pre-Green. These two never cease to amaze me. They just get better and better. We had such a fun weekend with new and old friends. Thank you so much everyone for the support and fantastic time!

Me and Mirage in Showmanship Pre-Green. 1st of 8! She stood SO great for me. So very proud of this young jennet. I really slacked off with showing her, in her first year. Mojo was still in pre-green, so I mainly showed him. Last year was my first year focusing on her. This was a HUGE accomplishment for us. I have a tendency to be too tight on their heads, during showmanship. I really focused on relaxing my hands. It definitely paid off, for both Mojo and Mirage!

Me and Mojo in Showmanship Non-Driving. Our personal best, as a team, in showmanship! I think this was our first time, as a team, getting a first in this class

Mirage’s go at In Hand Trail Pre-Green! 1st in the class. So happy with how she did

Video of Mojo in Hunter In Hand! This is a newer class to us. He gave it his all. A couple of jumps were a little scary but we made it through! This was one of the classes he placed second.
