🐾🎄 From Our Woof Pack to the Dachshund Gang! 🎄🐾

This one is especially close to our hearts here at Hungry Like The Woof. ❤️

Long before they became The Dachshund Gang and set off on an adventure to save Christmas, these special little dogs were members of our Woof Pack! 🐾

Their person, Linda Terrizzi, has been a client and friend for many years, and over that time we’ve had the pleasure of getting to know and love her wonderful dachshunds. Each one has brought their own personality, spirit, and plenty of that famous dachshund determination through our doors!

So you can imagine how exciting it is for us to see Linda bring these beloved dogs to life in her book, The Dachshund Gang Saves Christmas. 📖🎄

It’s a heartwarming adventure filled with Christmas magic, friendship, helping those in need, teamwork, joy, love, and the importance of having a place to call home. ❤️

We couldn’t be happier for Linda, and we’re pretty proud to say that The Dachshund Gang will always be part of the Hungry Like The Woof family.

Congratulations, Linda, and congratulations to the Gang! We can’t wait to see where those little paws take you next. 🐾❤️

🍂 Weekend Fun: The Legend of the Woolly Bear! 🐛

Have you spotted a woolly bear caterpillar wandering across the yard, driveway, or trail lately? According to an old bit of American weather folklore, that fuzzy little traveler might have something to say about the winter ahead!

The woolly bear—also called the woolly worm—is the caterpillar of the Isabella tiger moth. For generations, people have looked at its rusty-orange and black bands for clues about winter weather.

🐛 The old folklore says:

More orange/rust = a milder winter

More black = a harsher winter

Dark coloring toward the head = rougher weather early in winter

Dark coloring toward the tail = rougher weather later in the season

Is it really a furry little meteorologist? Not quite! 😄 Scientists tell us that the width and color of the bands can vary with the caterpillar's age, development, and growing conditions—not because it knows what Mother Nature has planned months from now.

But we still love the tradition. Sometimes the old stories connecting people, animals, seasons, and the natural world are just plain fun to keep alive. 🍁

So while you're outside with your dogs this weekend, keep an eye out for a woolly bear! If you find one, take a picture and share it with us. We'd love to see what our local woolly bears are predicting for this winter. 🐾🐛❄️

Happy weekend from all of us at Hungry Like The Woof!
