Leopold is our KMUN, The Astorian, 949 The Bridge, and Classic Hits 94.3 KRKZ Pet of the Week for the week of June 8, 2026.

Meet Leopold! This handsome 6-year-old bully mix is a sweet boy looking for a home of his own. Leopold is learning loose-leash walking and will do best with someone who can confidently manage his strength and stay consistent with his training.

Leopold has been in playgroups with other dogs and has done well with the right dog friends. He’s a big personality with a lot of enthusiasm and can be a bit much for some dogs, so any potential canine companions should be a good match for his play style. He’s still polishing up his manners, but he’s got plenty of potential with the right guidance.

If you're looking for a loyal companion and are ready to help him continue building his skills, Leopold would love to meet you!

🎓 Congratulations to the Class of 2026! 🎓

To all the graduates in our community, congratulations on this incredible accomplishment. Your hard work, perseverance, and dedication have brought you to this milestone, and we wish you all the best as you begin your next chapter.

At the Clatsop County Animal Shelter, our own "Class of 2026" is celebrating with a few special yearbook superlatives. From Sarge the Husky, voted "Biggest Gossip," to DeeDee the cat, who is "Most Likely to Brighten Your Day," this graduating class is full of personality.

While our shelter graduates may not be collecting diplomas, they're all hoping for the same thing after graduation: a loving forever home.

A special thank you to The UPS Store at Warrenton, OR for their continued generosity and dedication to printing our monthly adoption posters.

Warning: Berry may cause sudden urges to cancel plans and stay home cuddling.

Meet Berry, a seriously sweet 4-year-old tabby boy at Clatsop County Animal Shelter who has one very important life goal: find a cozy home and a lap to call his own.

Berry is affectionate, gentle, handsome, and wonderfully people-oriented. He’s the kind of cat who looks up at you with those soft green eyes and makes it very hard to walk away. He loves pets, enjoys attention, and would be thrilled to trade shelter life for couch time, window watching, and being someone’s favorite little companion.

At about 4 years old, Berry is past the wild kitten stage but still has plenty of love, curiosity, and personality to share. He’s ready to settle in, stretch out, and become the cozy best friend you didn’t know you needed.

Success Story Sunday 🎉🎉
From shelter pet to beloved family member, we love celebrating the incredible bonds formed at the Clatsop County Animal Shelter.

🐾The Adoption Moment🐾
We weren’t intending to adopt that day, but while we were waiting on some friends to head out of town we decided to stop by and mingle with the kitties. When we met Marty (previously Mr. Benjamin), we just knew he would fit into our household! We brought him home a few days later and he’s been the best boy!

💜 Life at Home Today💜
Personality: Chill, level-headed, snuggly
Favorite Things: Ruling the roost (the dogs listen to him), soaking up snuggles, being in the same room as his people, and showing off his kitten energy once he felt right at home.

💌 A Message from the Adopter 💌
Thank you guys for connecting us with this gem of a kitty. We love him!

😺 What would you say to someone who is thinking about adopting? 😺
DooOooOoo it

Thank you to Marty’s family for giving Marty the perfect forever home!

Meet Sarge! 🐾
Sarge is a very handsome 6-year-old Husky with a big personality and an even bigger heart. At 70 pounds, he’s full of playful energy, does well with other dogs, and is incredibly friendly with everyone he meets. Whether he’s out on a walk or ready for another round of fetch, Sarge brings enthusiasm and joy everywhere he goes. He’s already pretty good on leash, though he still has a few things to learn along the way.

More than anything, Sarge craves love and attention. He’s looking for a home where playtime is just as important as the next hug, a place where he can be both an adventure buddy and a deeply loved companion. If you’re looking for a loyal dog who will keep life fun and your heart full, Sarge may be the perfect fit.

Pet Meet-and-Greets are by appointment. To meet Sarge or any of our available dogs or cats, please call the shelter at 503-861-7387 or stop by the lobby to schedule a visit.
