Meet the Dynamic Duo: Two Loyal Chow Chows Looking for Their Perfect Home - DISCOUNT AVAILABLE ON THEIR ADOPTION FEES!!

These two stunning Chow Chows are a bonded pair who have spent their lives together and are searching for an adopter who understands and appreciates the unique nature of the breed.

The larger gray gentleman is Kuma and is the confident leader of the pair—steady, observant, and devoted to the people he trusts.

His smaller black companion, Shasta, is equally loyal, with a playful streak and a beautiful personality that shines once she feels comfortable.

Together, they balance each other beautifully and can often be found keeping watch over their surroundings, relaxing side by side, or eagerly greeting their favorite people.

Like many Chow Chows, they are not social butterflies. They form deep bonds with their family and prefer quality relationships over meeting every stranger. Their ideal adopter will have prior Chow Chow or similar guardian-breed experience and understand the breed's independent nature, need for structure, and thoughtful approach to introductions.

These special dogs are looking for:
**An adopter with Chow Chow or guardian-breed experience
**A calm, stable home that respects their boundaries
**Consistent leadership and positive reinforcement
**A commitment to proper grooming and ongoing care
**A family willing to earn their trust and enjoy the incredible loyalty that follows

In return, you'll gain two devoted companions who will be your shadows, your protectors, and your best friends. They may not be the type to greet everyone they meet, but once you're part of their circle, you're family for life.

If you understand the special bond that makes Chow Chows such remarkable dogs, this pair is ready to find the experienced home they deserve. ❤️🐾

Let us tell you about Trombone.... He came to the shelter on 02/28/2024 as a stray, malnourished, and had given up on people. At first Trombone didn't care to play with other dogs, but staff continued to work with him and never gave up on him. Just a little less than a year ago, a young lady (volunteer) took an interest in Trombone and took him out on several "Dog's Day Out" adventures and fell in love with him. However, she could not have a dog in her home at the time. Trombone came out of his shell and went to adoption events with staff and even learned to play with other dogs quite nicely! Trombone was at the shelter for 811 DAYS...did you hear that???...811 DAYS!!!... On May 19, 2026, the volunteer came back to the shelter and was moving to a home where she could have a dog. TROMBONE WENT HOME WITH HER!!! AFTER 811 DAYS!!! She's since shared photos of Trombone in his new home...and (as you can see in the photos) he loves his new friend... Trombone--We couldn't be happier for you, buddy! Live the best life in your forever home! 💕🐾
