Today I took in a stray senior dog. She was found this morning on 15 mile and Livernois area running down 15 mile. A nice gentleman picked her up and brought her to his vet, Maple veterinary hospital in Troy, and one of the receptionist called me and filled me in. I offered to foster her until her owner is found so she wouldn’t have to go to the shelter. Unfortunately she didn’t receive care while at Maple all day so I had to take her to Gasow as an urgent care after hours.

She was examined and is thought to be about 12-14 years old. She’s got bad cataracts and is probably completely blind in her left eye. She has a grade 3/6 heart murmur but seems to be doing well. She’s terribly dehydrated and malnourished and needed subcutaneous fluids to help rehydrate her. She has an upper respiratory infection and I started her antibiotics tonight. Unfortunately I couldn’t afford to have a heartworm test or bloodwork done today, and I’m hoping to raise money for her bill tonight and for her future bloodwork. They also want to do chest X-rays to see what her wheezing is about, but that too will have to come later.

I’m doing what I can with the limited funds I have. Please if you can donate to her cause any amount will go right to her care. I named her Betty after my grandmother because she’s the sweetest old lady. Please help if you can.

Another grooming date for Miss Pearl. Mom wanted her super short for when they go camping and on walks. Pearl was a gem as always and mom was very happy with her haircut.

She’s just sedated and sleepy. No death pictures have been shared.

Yesterday I had to help a lost chicken cross the rainbow bridge. She had been dumped and had a severe prolapse of her vent that had turned necrotic. Unfortunately there wasn’t anything that could be done for her aside from ending her suffering and helping her get peace. She was the sweetest girl. Luna and I have her some love and snacks. Rest easy Sweetie Pie I’m sorry I wasn’t able to do more.

A big thank you to the staff at Parkway Animal Hospital for getting back a in the same day within hours for the euthanasia.

Today I went to visit Miss Colby at her house for a nail trim and to express her a**l glands. This sweet girl was rescued from the streets by her mom a couple years ago and she is about 13 years old. She had a bout of vestibular disease recently so it’s very important to keep her nails short to help with traction on the floors. She loves having her services done in the comfort of her own home where she can take breaks and relax right after.

I always love my visits with this sweetheart.

This is Riley. He loves to stay with us when his mom is away on vacations. I have been watching him since he was a little puppy, 6 years and counting.
