Urgent versus emergent:
The key difference is that emergent refers to a life-threatening or limb-threatening situation requiring immediate intervention, while urgent refers to a serious but non-life-threatening condition that requires attention within 24 to 48 hours.

Free services are causing more complaints than thank yous. Seeing my staff cry is not okay. This field has significantly elevated su***de rates for a reason. Primary contributing stressors are known to include experiencing harassment or intense pressure from pet owners, severe financial and emotional strain, and compassion fatigue from end-of-life care and heavy clinical workloads leading to burnout.
