Free services are causing more complaints than thank yous. Seeing my staff cry is not okay. This field has significantly elevated su***de rates for a reason. Primary contributing stressors are known to include experiencing harassment or intense pressure from pet owners, severe financial and emotional strain, and compassion fatigue from end-of-life care and heavy clinical workloads leading to burnout.
