Our Story

The Shepard’s Pasture Shetland Sheep are raised on pasture with proper animal husbandry a top priority. All wool is hand prepared starting with blade shearing followed by washing and carding. Additionally, we raise Cashmere goats for a luxurious fine fiber. Our wool and cashmere fiber is either left in its natural color of white or brown, or it is dyed with locally grown organic plant material such as marigolds or black walnuts.

Additionally, educating the public is one of the most rewarding activities that we perform and so we love to talk and teach about our animals. As part of the ruminent family, the animal stomach system is the key to good health and is an amazing example of proper eating habits and health management.

We train and raise both the sheep and goats with patience and care to achieve the friendliest animals and the finest fiber possible. Every day is a hands on experience and it gives us great pleasure to share our wool , cashmere and goat milk soap with the public.
