Copper just keeps on performing. Thankful for the great hunters that have chosen us to track for them. Big thanks to my wife Madeline for taking care of things at home while I’m out exploring new county finding deer and my buddy Wyatt for tagging along here lately. Been a hell of a start to our tracking season. Looking forward to the remainder of it. This is our latest recovery just under 24 hours old.

Really do appreciate the hunters I’ve tracked for taking the time to let us know when the deer has shown back up. Our main goal as trackers is to not leave any deer in the woods but it does happen, even to the best of the trackers. Messages like this are like a little weight has been lifted off our shoulders.

Copper made a friend today. The hunter knew he shot back and hit gut and confirmed it by the blood and gut material within the first few yards. Backed out and give us a call. We showed up over 31 hours later and the hound made a solid 200 yard track in just a few minutes.

Copper worked his little butt off to put another deer on the tailgate. 28 hours post shot. Hunter knew he hit liver so he backed out that night and did some grid searching the next morning with no luck. With a lot of patience and trust in the dog, we worked past the last of the grid search and he led us right to him. Congrats on a very nice Kansas deer Ryan! Thank you for choosing us!

We want to find your deer as bad as you do. Trust us. When we see this kind of blood and we track 1000 yards plus and tell you to give it time, give it time. They’ll usually show back up. Even if it’s a month later.

Something we trackers hear ALL THE TIME is “we have tons of blood” and “lots of lung blood with bubbles”.

This picture is from a deer that was shot a couple weeks ago. The hunter tracked this deer 600-700 yards and there was blood like this almost the entire way. They lost blood and called in Boots.

We showed up and tracked the deer another 1,000 or so yards. Similar blood for most of it. My inclination when I got the first blood pic from the hunter was neck or brisket.

The “bubbles” you see in the blood is from the blood “frothing up”; not lung blood. We pulled off this track without a deer. Unfortunately it was a GIANT and the hunter was pretty torn up.

Well, about a week later he showed back up on camera seemingly fine. FTR, the amount and color shade/appearance of the blood rarely means much. Don’t get me wrong, more blood is better than less when it comes to tracking, but more blood really only means there’s more blood and nothing else.

Love it when a plan comes together! How about this bruiser! She made a perfect shot on this deer and decided to let Copper make quick work on getting him found. Congrats to everyone involved in harvesting this trophy!
