We are pleased to announce a second new doctor has arrived at Walworth Animal Hospital to help keep up with our lovely patients. She joins Dr. Miller, Dr. Drouin, Dr. Campbell, Dr. Hines, and Dr. Padilla to complete our team of veterinarians.

Dr. Ann Vestal went to University of Illinois for her undergrad, and completed her DVM at Oklahoma State University. She has never had a "plan B" and has wanted to be a veterinarian since she was a little girl.

She is thrilled to have moved closed to her family, who have been in the finger lakes area for 60+ years. She has seen much of the country (she's practiced in Montana, Colorado, and Chicago) but is pleased to be back "home" here in NY.

Dr. Vestal has a strong background in community medicine, pain management, and has a holistic edge in her style of practice. In her time off (which she shares with her sweetheart and 5 dogs) she enjoys horseback riding, and yoga. At home you can often find her immersed in a good book when she's not spending time with family.

We will be closed monday Sept 7th in observance of Labor Day. We will be back open for our regular hours on Tuesday Sept 8th.

Yesterday we had a big scare when one of our own pups escaped her home while her owner was out of town.

Thankfully she made it home safe and sound!

We are especially thankful for the drone company that came out to help look for her. The pilot was professional and kind- this sort of service is amazing and we are grateful he’s available in our community! We will drop a link for his info in the comments.

Photos are of the silly dog who made us all worry. We love this teeny creature to pieces. Some things that ensured we got her back safely include…

1. She is microchipped
2. Community "lost dog" posts went out on social media right away, and sightings came in quickly
3. The drone was able to scan all over her last known location
4. Her owner was able to drive home and all the people who know the dog well (including her canine best pals) joined the search
5. Neighbors kept an eye out
6. A trap was set with a camera on it in the area she escaped.

Not every lost animal is found, even with all these precautions. We know we are lucky and wanted to share in case it happens to anyone else!

We are immensely proud to announce the arrival of Dr. Padilla as a new associate veterinarian at Walworth Animal Hospital.

She joins Dr. Miller, Dr. Drouin, Dr. Campbell, (and our recently returned Dr. Hines) in helping care for our lovely patients.

We will all benefit from her compassionate and insightful approach to medicine, and we can’t wait for everyone to meet her!

Friendly reminder to make sure your pet’s rabies vaccines are up to date!

And also don’t touch raccoons. If there are any hanging around acting oddly call your local wildlife rehabber for further guidance.

If you do come in physical contact with a raccoon (but seriously, let’s not do that) call your county health department without delay.

We will be closed on Monday May 25th in observance of Memorial Day. We hope our pets are this excited to see us for a long weekend. Our normal hours will resume on Tues May 26th :)

We recently enjoyed a staff outing at Color Me Mine in Webster. Highly recommended! (FYI if your group is smaller than 8 they allow walk ins too!).

We chatted, painted some pottery, and marveled over our good fortune of working with one another in a field that makes a difference. The people attending have been a part of Walworth Animal Hospital from 1 year to nearly 3 decades!

We’re so proud to serve our community, and love a chance to hang out outside the clinic from time to time. What other local group activities should we do for fun?

Walworth Animal Hospital will never attempt to sell or solicit anything involving money through social media. If you see any links please report them to Facebook as a scam to help protect this page. We do our best to watch out and delete them when we see them…but we are usually busy helping puppies like Riley (in the photo) get healthy! We’d hate to have to close down our page or comments- but we will do so if it means protecting our clients and friends from fraud.

Thanks for keeping a vigilant eye on things. This digital world is pretty wild sometimes!
