Monza, a 6-month-old Miniature Poodle mix who came to Joybound from Contra Costa Animal Services, was adopted as an candidate last week through Joybound's Shelter to Service program. This young pup is beginning a special journey with his new person, and we're excited to see the bond they build together in the months and years ahead. ❤🐾

Bruzer may sound like a tough guy name, but this lovable tabby only needed one thing: a family to call his own. A 1½-year-old who came to Joybound from Solano County Sheriff's Office Animal Care Division, Bruzer found his forever home last week and is all ready to settle into the good life. From sunny windowsills to cozy naps and everything in between, we think this big fella has plenty of happy days ahead. ❤

From clothing to furniture to adoptable cats, you can find pretty much anything at the Joybound Thrift Store, Cat Lounge & Adoption Center in Concord. And on Thursday, September 10, Contra Costa County pet guardians can find free pet food as well! Our pet food pantry will open at 10 AM and will close at 1 PM or when we run out of pet food. FoodShare events like this are made possible by our partners at Purina, who donate thousands of pounds of pet food to Joybound every year.
Please note: Due to a shortage of donated bags, attendees are encouraged bring a bag to carry your bags of pet food. Our team recommends a tote, a grocery bag, or something of a similar size.

Maxine is a superstar! This 3-year-old Shepherd mix was featured with John Shrable on KRON 4 News today as part of their Friday Pet of the Week segment. She's an absolutely sweetheart — potty trained, crate trained, and ready for love. Maxine is currently recovering from a hip surgery, and would love to keep living her low-key life while curled up on the couch next to YOU.

Emotional support comes in all shapes, sizes, AND species. Vegas, a 3-year-old cat who came to Joybound from Contra Costa Animal Services, found a new family last week through our Shelter to Service program as an candidate. While dogs often get the spotlight, cats can make wonderful ESAs too, offering comfort, companionship, and a calming presence when it's needed most. We couldn't be happier for Vegas and her new family. ❤️
