Joybound is joining more than 150 shelters across the state to wave all adoption fees today (Saturday, June 6), and maximize the number of animals who find loving homes. Are you ready to adopt? Weekend adoptions open at 11 AM, but guests can get here as early as 9 AM to put their name on our early check-in list.

In response to a recent chemical explosion threat in Orange County that forced the evacuation of tens of thousands of families, Joybound leaped into action. Working closely alongside the ASPCA and OC Animal Care, we coordinated the safe transfer of 25 vulnerable kittens to our facility in Walnut Creek. This proactive effort creates immediate physical space in Southern California shelters, allowing local emergency teams to focus on caring for displaced pets and assisting families navigating the crisis.
Many of these kittens have already had their veterinary exams and spay/neuter procedures here at Joybound's veterinary clinic, and are currently available for adoption. When overlapping emergencies drain public safety systems, collaboration like this makes all the difference.
