This past weekend we headed to the ECWC Gymkhana and brought 3 of our students to compete for the very first time! 🐴✨

They did an outstanding job and we couldn’t be prouder of them! These dedicated young riders have poured so much hard work and heart into their training—not just preparing for competition, but caring for and connecting with their horses every single day.

Two of our students are part of our Apprentice Program at Castle Rock Arabians, and one of our apprentices even brought home 4th place in her division—what an incredible achievement for her first time competing! All three represented themselves, their horses, and our program so beautifully.

We at GL Performance Horses and Castle Rock Arabians are absolutely bursting with pride for our students! Thank you for letting us be part of your journey. ❤️

ECWC’s English Western show is on the Sunday during Memorial Day weekend - we hope to see you!

May 16th!

Yipee - our 2nd and 3rd shows are right around the corner. It is this coming Saturday May 2, 2026 to be held at Equestrian Center of Walnut Creek.

It will be 2 shows in one day - only running rated events. These will be run as independent shows - we run through 1 set of rated events and then run the 2nd set of rated events. No schoolings/time only's will be offered on this day - sorry!

If you are 100% positive you plan on competing at either 1 or both shows email Gina [email protected] with your name, horses name and whether you plan on competing at one or both shows. She will be working on time sheets starting on Monday. You still need to turn in show day form/fees and 3 waivers. Cut off to get on the time sheets early will be Friday by 11am.

Talk to us about our year end awards program and/or opportunity to compete at SCS (State).

Awards for the day will be the combined points of both shows - and an award given out to 1st - 2nd for the rider/horse combo.

Food truck - Groovy Gorditas and of course our judge Sharon Drake.

Ages 9–18 | For passionate young equestrians!
Go beyond regular lessons with immersive horsemanship training.

Gain advanced riding skills (English & Western), hands-on horse care, training, and daily chores. Build confidence, responsibility, and strong friendships.

Program Details:

• 3 days per week (including 1 weekend day)
• Monthly fee: $600 (year-round) or $800 (summer only)
• Additional fees may apply for shows/clinics
Apprentices actively help care for and train our school horses while working with a variety of breeds and disciplines. While supervised underneath our trainers.

We’ve built an incredible team dedicated to giving them the best care possible, and I want to give a huge shoutout to our amazing farrier, Dillon Hushour!

Whether it’s corrective shoeing, therapeutic work, or routine trims—you name it, Dillon can handle it with skill and precision. He takes the time to explain different shoeing options and techniques, helping educate every client so we can make the best decisions for our horses together. Plus, he collaborates closely with vets when needed—that level of teamwork is priceless!
