Watch Those Slippery Paws! 🐾
If you have tile or hardwood floors at home, keeping the fur on your dog’s paw pads and between their toes trimmed is especially important! When this fur gets too long, it can cover their paw pads and prevent them from getting the traction they need to walk safely on smooth surfaces. This can make it much easier for your pup to slip, slide, or even fall.
Think about those moments when your dog gets excited and takes off running to greet you, tries to jump up from a nap, or simply walks across the room. Without proper traction, these everyday movements can become tricky and potentially lead to injuries. This can be especially challenging for senior dogs or pups who already have trouble with their balance.
One easy way to help is to place rugs or runners in areas where your dog frequently walks, especially along hallways and near their favorite sleeping spots. Even better, keep the fur around their paw pads neatly trimmed so their pads can make proper contact with the floor! This simple bit of paw maintenance can help your furry friend feel more stable, confident, and comfortable on their feet.
