Sweet Sadie is almost 13 years old and visits us weekly for laser therapy with Haeli to help keep her comfortable, mobile, and enjoying life as a senior corgi. 💜

Just like people, pets can develop arthritis as they age. The signs are often subtle at first and can easily be mistaken for “slowing down.”

Common signs of arthritis in pets may include:
• Difficulty getting up or laying down
• Hesitation with stairs or jumping
• Slowing down on walks
• Limping or stiffness, especially after resting
• Changes in behavior or wanting to play less

One of the ways we help support pets with arthritis is through laser therapy. Laser therapy is a non-invasive treatment that can help reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and ease discomfort — helping pets move more comfortably and maintain a better quality of life.

We love seeing sweet patients like Sadie continue doing the things they love with a little extra support along the way. ❤️

Heat safety is no joke this time of year!

Nicole’s pup, Duncan, and Jade’s pups, Dug and Raven, are here to remind everyone to help pets stay safe, cool, and comfortable during the warmer months ahead.

Keep a close eye on pets during outdoor activities, especially senior pets, brachycephalic breeds (like Bulldogs, Pugs, and Frenchies), and pets with darker coats who may overheat more quickly.

Don’t forget about indoor pets, too. 🏠☀️ Be sure to keep indoor spaces cool, watch out for overly warm sunny window lounge spots, and always make sure fresh water is readily available. Even pets who stay indoors can be at risk for overheating during the warmer months.

📸 We’d love to see how your pets are enjoying the sunshine safely this summer! Share a photo in the comments! ☀️

Some very important veterinary training was happening around the clinic today. ❤️

Danny’s son stopped by and took his job very seriously, making sure all of his “patients” were thoroughly examined and cared for. Future vet in the making? We think so. 😍

Meanwhile, Gus decided he was perfectly capable of carrying his own medications home today… and honestly, we respect the independence. 😂

Sometimes it’s these little moments that make the middle of the week a whole lot brighter.

📸 We’d love to see your own midweek pick-me-up! Share a photo of your pet doing something that always makes you smile in the comments below.

Boo stopped by for a recheck with Dr. Laura Beth Wick to monitor his bloodwork and blood pressure, and he handled it like a champ. ❤️

Cats are incredibly good at hiding when something isn’t right, which is why monitoring things like blood pressure can be so important, especially for senior cats or cats with kidney disease, thyroid disease, or other ongoing medical conditions.

High blood pressure (hypertension) in cats can sometimes cause very subtle signs, including:
• Changes in vision or sudden blindness
• Dilated pupils
• Increased vocalization or restlessness
• Hiding or behavior changes
• Loss of appetite
• Seizures or disorientation in severe cases

One of the biggest reasons we focus so heavily on comfort during visits is because stress can affect blood pressure readings. Creating a calm, low-stress environment helps us get more accurate information while making the experience easier on pets like Boo.

We love seeing cats feel safe enough to relax during care. It makes a difference for them, and it helps us provide better medicine, too.

This is Lucy. ❤️ She came in for her spay procedure and made sure to soak up all the love from our team while she was here.

Noatak is officially living his best life 💙

He stopped by today for his first exam after being adopted from a local shelter, and we’d say he’s settling in pretty well.

We also couldn’t help but notice his tag from Tags for Hope—a company with a mission we love: helping give more animals a second chance. Every purchase supports food, medical care, and resources for pets in need, giving them more time to find homes just like Noatak did. (https://www.tagsforhope.com/purpose/our-mission/)

A quick reminder for pet parents:
🏷️ ID tags help your pet get home fast
📍 Microchips add a permanent layer of protection
📞 Make sure your contact info stays up to date

Because even the most well-loved pets can get lost, and these small steps make a big difference.

These tiny little ones are already showing just how strong they are. ❤️

Dr. Wicks and Jen have been giving these 2-week-old orphaned kittens the care they need, and this moment? Their very first time accepting the bottle. 🍼

It’s small, but it’s everything. Because moments like this are where second chances begin.

This week, we're celebrating National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day. It’s a reminder that not every pet gets the easiest start… but with a little care, patience, and love, their story can change completely.

If you’ve ever thought about adopting, this is your sign. There are so many pets out there just waiting for their chance. 🐾

And if you ever find yourself caring for a young or orphaned pet, we’re here to help guide you every step of the way.

Bibi stopped by for her osteoarthritis and made sure to say hello to everyone along the way. Safe to say… she takes her front desk duties very seriously.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is one of the most common causes of chronic pain in dogs, especially as they get older, and it often shows up in subtle ways.

Signs to watch for:
• Slowing down on walks
• Hesitation with stairs or jumping
• Stiffness (especially after resting)
• Limping or favoring a leg
• Less interest in play
• Changes in mood

Which dogs are most at risk?
• Senior dogs
• Large breeds
• Dogs with past injuries
• Overweight pets

How we can help:
We offer a variety of options to manage joint pain and improve the quality of life, including monthly injections, medications, joint support, and lifestyle adjustments tailored to your pet.

If you’ve noticed your dog slowing down, hesitating on stairs, or not as eager to play, it may be more than just “getting older.” We’re here to help.

Jada was in recently for her wellness visit after her caregivers became concerned about how frequently she was vomiting.

Occasional vomiting can happen, but frequent or ongoing vomiting in cats isn’t something to ignore. It can be a sign that something deeper is going on.

To get answers, we used ultrasound along with blood and urine testing to take a closer look at what’s happening internally, in a gentle, non-invasive way. Jada handled it like a pro.

And yes… Jada even made herself comfortable enough to play with the ultrasound probe. 😉

That’s the goal of our Fear Free approach. We work hard to create a calm, low-stress environment where pets feel safe. Because when cats feel comfortable in their space, we’re able to get more accurate results and clearer answers.

Pictured here with Dr. Boyd and Haeli, making sure Jada’s visit was as smooth (and cozy) as possible. ❤️

If your cat is due for a checkup or you’ve noticed changes at home, we’re here to help.
