So what is PEMF? PEMF stands for Pulsed Electromagnetic Field. Devices that use PEMF technology for therapy produce electromagnetic fields with various waveforms and frequencies that stimulate healthy muscles in order to improve and facilitate muscle performance. Uniquely, the BEMER device thereby temporarily increases local blood circulation in healthy muscles.

This horse has been on of the most rewarding one to work on. There are no performance goals just genuine desire to make him comfortable. He was a rescue that was under weight and struggled to walk. Now our goal is to help him run! His posture in these 2 pictures were very telling to me. One was prior to a BEMER Group Europe treatment and massage and one was after. What you can’t see is this is the first time he absolutely relaxed into being touched. It was a true testament to the bond he has formed with his owner.
Thanks for letting me be a part of your journey, Chewy!

: Tensor Fasciae Latae

The Tensor Fasciae Latae, or TFL, is the stifle muscle in the horse. It originates at the tuber coxae and inserts in two places, 1. the fascia lata of patella and 2. cranial border of the tibia. The purpose of this muscle is to flex the hip, extend the stifle and draw the limb forward. Activation of this muscle usually begins at the stance phase and slows down at the early stage of the swing phase.

𝑰𝒔𝒔𝒖𝒆𝒔: Lack of impulsion, short stride in the hind, difficulty engaging, toe dragging, restriction in stifle and hip flexion.

𝑨𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒉𝒚 in this muscle could be an indicator that the horse has stifle joint issues, or a weak stifle in general.

𝑭𝒖𝒏 𝑭𝒂𝒄𝒕: In Latin, TFL means "stretcher of the wide band"
