Zero and Goose are here for Training. Zero is here for a month and Goose is here for just over a week. They have both grown so much in such a short time. And it is true, you are who you hang around. So we make sure those we hang around are pretty awesome. 🤩 🥰 Early public exposure is so crucial to their young brain development. I’m currently raising my 6.5 year old human daughter… you bet there are many similarities in me exposing my daughter to the “big wide world” 🌎 in small controlled doses and how we help young puppies experience the “big wide human world”. 🌎 it’s in small doses, at their own learning sp*ed fueled by resilience, confidence, adaptation and more. We are so proud of these young pups with already natural genetics 🧬 towards good citizens. 👏 Happy Saturday!

Yesterday was so fun. All the training dogs going home this week (Lucky, Kiylee, Wayne) + Marley/Pretzel enjoyed a pack walk to our front 2.5 acre field… shocker… the Spaniels found the water 💦 to legit waller in the horse 🐴 made spring fed pond and cattle dogX found mud. 🥰🤩🐾🐕🐶

They are all super happy and open- pure joy in being dogs. This. This right here warms my heart. 💜 You may also notice they are all wearing remote e collars- they’ve been taught these collars mean they are going on an adventure, doing something fun, or existing in peace. ☮️

Seeing dogs 🐕 fully in their element, fulfilling their intrinsic genetic needs, breed characteristics on full display both the volume turned up.

Enjoy this clip of training dogs Kiylee (black GsD in back on her tether/place, Lucky (heeler/Husky) on the tack trunk place, and little Goose (12 week old Wheaten/Poodle Goose) getting some environmental exposure with the blower while Ciara blows our barn aisle clean.

A loud blower can be a HUGE scary thing for dogs, but if we expose at a distance which we started with, Goose was curious and open minded about the loud thing blowing dust clouds out of the barn. Then I turned on the camera and walked back to him to support him when Ciara came to blow the back part of the aisle where the dogs were. I calmly am just there to support and show him that I’m the adult in the room and I’ve got his back. If he is properly supported, then he remains curious about the scary noise as opposed to getting afraid of the scary noise because he has the proper support from me.

Then you see us when she was finished, have her put it on the floor so that we can then go and explore the new thing by smelling at her touching it and as you see, he was pretty unfazed, which is exactly what we want to see. Pay attention to his high but relaxed wagging tail (=confidence/security) forward ears with an overall relaxed demeanor.

12-13 wk old Goose. 🥰🤩🥰🤗🫶🏽 Volume up for commentary. We are laying the foundation for him figuring out the “mysteries” of human world/communication. He’s learning how his actions create certain responses from the human. He’s learning that new experiences bring positive food/praise reinforcement. He’s learning he has a voice, he has choices… and there are rules to the way of life on earth.

SOOOOO much can be mitigated in puppy months than can’t or should Have** to be “modified” later. I want to CREATE the dog 🐕 I WANT…. Through my interactions with the PUPPY, now.

The more I create, I curate… the less I have to modify/correct later.

Prevention. Exposure. Fairness. Consistency.

A willing, thinking, motivated puppy 🐶 turns into a willing, thinking, motivated dog if we don’t squash it.

Goose is here for just over a week for vacation boarding and his family added on daily obedience training and of course included in his puppy boarding is the extra puppy let out necessary overnight as needed and throughout the day to consistently keep up with the training his humans have already started at home. 🏠 Goose is a super smart, very balanced puppy so far! 👏 these early and positive experiences of micro stressors help him build resilience and confidence through positive and fun experiences. 😊 Here you see him making “p*e-p*e outside!”: notice how the entire time we were walking out to his yard I was saying are you ready to go outside and go potty? Are you ready to go outside and go potty and when we finally got out to the yard I got quiet and allowed him to concentrate on the task at hand. Then I very calmly praised him during the act, and then a massive praise party after he went p*e, p*e outside. This builds the foundation for the on-demand potty cue for when he is older. Gosh he’s a smart and fun cookie.

This morning I took Edit & Byron out for our “Sunday Long Run” 🏃‍♀️ 🐕… 8 miles done ✅ we were walking down our cool-off and “ran” into this super kind lady promoting Hollywood Feed Canton- opening soon?!
Over the years we’ve had to buy client food from there or toys/treats and always had a good experience- we are happy to see a more holistic dog feed company supplying the Canton area. She gave us 2 balls to finish our outing along with a grab bag. 🤩
