Happy 13th birthday to Maevis today! While she is looking old, she is the biggest trouble maker in our house and spent the early morning hours of her 13th birthday counter surfing and stealing food. 🤦‍♀️She is in her IDGAF phase of life.

Keeping my family fed. Hard work and more costly, but better for us, and tastes better too. The hounds love new chicken day every year because it also means new goodies for them. They enjoy a lot of what we don't eat, and any leftover chicken from the year before gets thrown in the crockpot for them.

Miranda July 23, 2013 - July 22, 2025. You would have been 12 tomorrow. You loved going to work with me at the law firm and going for car rides. You made the best faces, sometimes like a cartoon character. You were the best snuggler. You hogged the bed when you weren't even supposed to be on it. Your favorite place was the couch. You were a good dog even when you did the things that drove me crazy. You have stolen more chicken eggs off the counter than I can count, usually smashing too many to eat and creating a mess, and you always peed in the house when it was raining outside, and man, did both of those things make me so mad! You were always good with kids and wore so many different costumes, makeup, and hair ties over the years. You always wanted to be involved. You were just a really good, sweet, sometimes aggravating, wonderful dog, and I am going to miss you, and even your antics, so much.

Miranda went from being her goofy self on Sunday night to her whole body giving up on her, and I am pretty sure that we need to prepare to say goodbye to her at her vet appointment today. 😢 Please keep Miranda and our family in your thoughts.
