Happy Thanksgiving to all of our friends! I know Walden Animal Deli isn't most people's destination on Black Friday, but I want to make everyone aware that we actually have a lot of sales going on Friday AND Saturday. Stop in if you get a chance. Bring a friend!

It recently came to light for me, that at least one of my local veterinarians was recommending certain food brands that we do not sell, nor would we recommend. All 3 brands turn out to be owned by major corporations: Nestle, Mars and Colgate Palmolive. I am surmising that the vet is corporate owned as well and so I just want to alert my beloved and valued customers to take into consideration when you get advice from anyone, where it comes from and what may be behind it.

Walden Animal Deli and its employees are in no way paid for anything we recommend. We try very hard to supply our customers with the best quality foods and treats for all of your pets. We laugh with you, we cry with you, we know our brands and the people behind them. Your patronage shows us that you trust us and we never take that for granted.

Whether you are local or a far away friend, I beseech you to seek the advice of your local independent pet retailers. Patronize them. Use cash. I know many people in this business and we are all up against the same things. The P words, the C word, the big box stores, the A word, the ridiculous credit card fees and now corporate warfare which will affect not just my business and my brands, but the health of our pets also.
