This Tech Week, we’re celebrating our incredible Certified Veterinary Technicians. 🩺🐾

From monitoring anesthesia and providing skilled nursing care to comforting nervous patients, our CVTs bring knowledge, compassion, and dedication to every part of our hospital. Some also work in emergency and specialty hospitals, bringing valuable experience and advanced skills to our team.

One of our favorite things is seeing how much our CVTs teach our VAs—sharing their knowledge, building confidence, and helping the next generation of veterinary professionals grow. 💙

Thank you to both our CVTs and VAs for supporting each other and giving our patients so much love and care. Our hospital is better because of you! 🐾

This National Veterinary Technician Week, we're celebrating the incredible Associates who make our hospitals thrive — like Karen, who began as a CSR and never stopped growing and like Joanne, who sought mentorship and support to obtain her VTNE.

At VCA, we're proud to champion our veterinary technicians every step of the way — offering mentorship, encouragement, and the resources to help you reach your full potential.

To every vet tech in our VCA family: thank you. What you do matters deeply — to our teams, to our patients, and to the pet owners who trust us with their most beloved companions.

Every surgery starts long before the first incision. It starts with a veterinary technician who has spent years mastering their skills, anticipating needs, monitoring vitals, and showing up fully prepared for every patient who comes through the door.

Vet techs are the heart of every OR team, and their skill and dedication make a difference every single day. At some VCA specialty hospitals, we take surgical collaboration even further. Some of our teams include Certified Surgical Technologists (CSTs) — professionals who earned specialized degrees specifically to support surgeons in the OR.

The result? Less time under anesthesia. Better outcomes. And a team that truly works as one. 💙

Because every patient is somebody's pet — and they deserve nothing less than the best.

🐾 Fri-YAY at the vet! 🐶🐱💕

Because keeping pets healthy should come with a little fun, too! 🐾❤️

🐾 Fear Free looks a little different for every patient… and for Remy, it looks like hanging out on the floor with Dr. Couts! 🥹🩺💙

Meeting pets at their level, moving at their pace, and using positive reinforcement can help reduce fear, anxiety, and stress during veterinary visits. Creating positive experiences at the vet helps build trust and can make future visits easier and safer for everyone involved.

Because sometimes the best medicine starts with getting on their level. 🐶🤍

🍩 Dunkin’ is running on donuts! 🍩

This handsome Boston Terrier was neutered this past week and is recovering in style with his donut e-collar! 🐾💙 The donut helps keep Dunkin from licking or bothering his incision while everything heals.

Neutering can provide important health and behavioral benefits, including eliminating the risk of testicular cancer, reducing the risk of certain prostate problems, and helping prevent unwanted litters. 🩺🐶

And of course, keeping those surgical sites protected is a lot easier with a donut around! 🍩😂

Thinking about neutering your pup? Give us a call to talk with your veterinary team about the best timing for your dog! 🐾

Happy healing, Dunkin! 💙🍩

This little cutie stopped by for a wellness visit and reminded us that routine care isn’t just for cats and dogs! Rats are experts at hiding signs of illness, which makes regular veterinary exams an important part of keeping them happy and healthy.

Meet Mazzy! 🐾🩷 This adorable 15-week-old Sphynx kitten had the best time at her visit with Dr. Couts, and we were completely obsessed with her! 🥹

✨ Sphynx fun fact: Despite their “hairless” appearance, many Sphynx cats are actually covered in a super-fine layer of peach fuzz! Because they don’t have a typical fur coat to absorb their natural skin oils, they may need regular baths and ear cleaning to keep their skin healthy. 🛁🐱

Regular visits are an important part of giving kittens like Mazzy a healthy start and staying ahead of potential health concerns as they grow. 🩺❤️

📅 Is your pet due for an exam? Don’t wait until something seems wrong. Schedule their checkup today and help keep them happy, healthy, and thriving! 🐾

Thanks for making our day, Mazzy! 💕

Today, we remember the lives forever changed on September 11, 2001. 🇺🇸

We honor the people who lost their lives, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the countless heroes who stepped forward in the days that followed, including the incredible search, rescue, recovery, and therapy dogs who worked alongside their handlers. 🐾

These dogs searched through unimaginable conditions, brought comfort during heartbreak, and showed the unwavering loyalty and courage that make the human-animal bond so extraordinary.

Today, we remember the people. We remember the dogs. We remember every hero, both two-legged and four-legged. ❤️🤍💙
