German Shorthaired Pointer Rescue New England

Please read the entire post.

Sammy is an almost 3 yr old female who is available for adoption through a local animal control. She is not in our program. Sammy came to them as a result of an animal neglect case and has been living with animal control for two years while her case went through the courts and now is legally signed over to them. She is a lovely, high energy dog who will need a lot of training so she's not for the faint of heart or inexperienced GSP owner. Sammy has hunt potential, seems to be ok with larger dogs but not so much with cats and small dogs. She's fine with people but probably no little humans for now because she is energetic and jumps. If you're looking for a dog that has a ton of potential and willing to put the time in training Sammy is the girl for you!

If you'd like to adopt please complete our adoption form found on our site and indicate that you're interested specifically in Sammy and we will forward on to the ACO. We are not disclosing her location for Sammy’s safety but will say she is in New England.

Hunting season is almost here and I know a lot of hunters are looking for younger dogs but gosh, look at Ammo! This 5 yr old is trained to hunt. He can hold his own with any dog in the field. He’s awesome with kids, wants another dog around for company, is active, professionally obedience trained and just a great dog who lives to hunt! We would prefer underground wired containment for Ammo.

Read the pinned post at the top of our page for info on adoption. New England residents only.

Positive comments are welcome. Negativity not so much.

🐾 AirTag vs. GPS Collar: Know the difference BEFORE your dog goes missing!

An AirTag can help locate your dog, but it relies on Bluetooth and nearby compatible Apple devices to update its location. In the woods or quiet areas, updates may stop if no compatible device is nearby. The are not designed for animals, just items like keys, wallets etc.

📍 A GPS pet tracker is designed to track a moving dog. Depending on the model, it can record routes and activity and share location updates when cellular service is available. They can also track your dogs sleep and health.

Please share to help other dog owners understand the difference!

Our cover boy Ammo is still looking for his forever home. He’s spending the afternoon watching Frozen with his foster family’s kids and neighbor’s children. I guess we can say he’s good with children. He’s professionally trained, active, a hunter and so much more! We listed a lot of available dogs in the next posts. We’ve been asked a bunch of questions today so hopefully this will help.

1. We do require some sort of containment. Traditional fencing, underground wired fencing etc. are acceptable. Please, the discussion is closed on this one. Negative comments will be deleted.

2. We will consider a rent to own situation (foster to adopt) but you still must go through our application process if you haven’t already. Read the pinned post at the top of the page for info on that.

3. Our adoption fee is $600. All dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines and on preventatives. No, we do not adopt intact dogs. It is against the regs for a rescue to do that unless there are verifiable medical reasons to not neuter. All dogs are healthy at time of adoption.

And as always we always take donations to help offset costs. (I just threw that in as a reminder…no one asked.) 😁
