♢ Working Line German Shepherds
♢ Health Tested & Titled My view of the German Shepherd Dog is one of versatility.

Originally bred as herding dogs, they have developed over the years into protection animals, companion animals, service animals and all around working/sport animals. They should be level headed, and capable of performing any task in any environment, with strong biddability and appropriate discernment, reacting correctly to a variety of situations. My goal is to produce dogs who replicate these characteristics, and are overall sound (both mentally and physically) and correct.

My darling, wonderful, forever perfect Akira turns 8 today.

I don't know that I can ever properly put into words how thankful I am that she came into my life, and how lucky I am that she is such a nice dog. She continues to give her all no matter what I ask of her, always willing, ever compliant, sweet and spicy all in one convenient package.

Happy birthday to the queen, the matriarch, the matron,

Just a good boy hanging out, using his brain for good and not evil, and looking handsome while he does it. 3 years old looks good on him.

Alexa, play "Lil Boo Thang."

A very out of coat Jubilee to grace your Thursday morning feed. I can confidently say she's a female we refer to as handsome 'round here.

I am so incredibly proud of Linda and Hayes for going out of their comfort zone this past weekend and showing at the 2026 North Eastern Regional Conformation Show! While neither are strangers to a show ring, the German style of show can be a bit daunting when you've never done it before. Hayes certainly showed off his temperament and secured himself SG1 in the 12-18 month stock coat male class - over a showline, no less!

Thank you judge and National Breed Warden Heidi Theis for giving a lovely, fair critique of our boy.

When the B's hit their first birthday, my co-owner and I felt it was a good time to pull the bag off of Jubilee and take a peek at what we've got.

She is still obviously a young dog, who is very much still growing, but the pieces are coming together nicely. I think I speak for both of us when I saw we're pretty excited for her future.

The girls took a trip out to the Steel Valley Cluster this weekend to knock off another piece of health testing. While eyes are not required by the GSDCA, I like to monitor them, as I've been seeing more and more cases of pannus in the breed.

I am happy to report that both Hawk and Finch passed their CAER exams with no issues whatsoever, and the ophthalmologist had really lovely things to say about them, complimenting not only their eyes, but also their color, condition, and temperaments. 🥰

The absolute light of my life. I love her mother, and I love her sister, but something about Finch is different. I don't know that I will ever be able to quantify it. I don't think I want to.

I want to wish both the A and B litters a VERY happy (and slightly belated) birthday!

Yesterday, three years ago, we welcomed Zuko, Hawk, Doc, Finch, and Kestrel into the world. Today, two of them are titled/nearly titled, one has almost perfected his smolder (maybe a BH for him this year?), two are wonderful companions to their people, and all but one are health tested with lovely results.

One year ago, because Kira is nothing if not consistent, we also welcomed Kaisen, Jubilee, Seneca, Hayes, Bravo, Trigger, and Severus into the world. They are in the throes of adolescence, and I have high hopes for all of them, regardless of their pursuits in life. Before we know it, it'll be time for health testing and those first steps on the trial field - unless you're Hayes, who is already a bit of a pro on that subject. ;)

Active companions, sport dogs, do-it-all dogs, weekend warriors, and couch cuddlers alike. Akira and I are very proud of her wonderful babies, and all of the people they have brought into our lives.

Today, under GSSCC/USCA judge Andrea Duggan, I am excited to announce that Hawk has earned her IGP1, and with it, High Tracking and High IGP1! 🎉

Some costly mistakes in her protection routine that were likely due to not being quite as dialed in for the phase as I thought we were, but I am overall pleased with her obedience and tracking scores for the day. She held together well, despite the heat and oppressive humidity, and while there are absolutely tweaks to be made, I am proud of her. I think she's come a rather long way from the puppy I was almost dead set on placing because she didn't match my vibe.

She says she is a strong, independent dog who don't need no handler, or something. Maybe it's karma.
