"Will a pet sitter stress my shy cat out by trying to track them down while I'm away?" 🐈‍⬛🕵️‍♀️

​I actually had a phone call today from a worried cat mom asking this exact question. It is such a common anxiety! If you have an introverted kitty who treats hiding like a competitive sport, the last thing you want is a stranger invading their safe zone.

​At West Metro Pet Care, we position ourselves on a foundation of respecting animal behavior. For our super scaredy-cat clients, forcing interaction or physically pulling them out of their comfort spot is a strict no-go. Doing so triggers a major spike in cortisol (stress hormones) and breaks their sense of security.

​Instead, our professional sitters practice what we call "passive wellness checks." We will always try to put eyes on your cat to verify they are healthy and safe, but we do it on their terms. Sometimes that means searching quietly for a quick flash of a tail under the bed, or looking for the glint of a reflection from their eyes in the dark corner of a closet shelf. In very rare cases, we can't find them at all—but we monitor food, water, and litter box activity to ensure they are thriving.

​We make our visual checks on sensitive kitties as quick as humanly possible to minimize disruption and let them get right back to their peaceful routine. Your cat's mental comfort is just as important to us as their physical safety! 💜

​The West Metro Pet Care booth was out in full force yesterday for the wonderful Canines in the Vines event at Parley Lake Winery. From giveaways to custom treat baskets, our team had a blast sharing our passion for professional pet care with our neighbors.

​Our general manager Alana was joined by our dedicated team members Dexter, Sydney, and Brittany to chat all things pet sitting, dog walking, and summer travel prep. Providing trusted, insured, and deeply personalized care across the West Metro means being an active part of our local community—and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day to do it!

The Norse gods have officially arrived in the West Metro! ⚡🐾🦊

​Please help us give a massive welcome to our newest pack members, Thor and Fenrir from Mound, MN! While their names come straight out of ancient mythology, their daily lives are pure comedy.

​First up is Thor (the handsome white pup). He might be named after the mighty God of Thunder, but truth be told, he’s much more like a thunder jacket himself! This sweet boy is an absolute professional when it comes to cuddling. 🛋️🤍

​Then we have his brother Fenrir, the stunning Pomeranian. His name is famously linked to Loki, the god of mischief—and let’s just say he definitely inherited that mischievous streak! Fenrir is packed with so much vibrant personality, and you can't let that incredibly cute, fluffy face fool you. When his favorite ball comes out, he plays a ferocious game of fetch! 🎾🔥

​We are already so in love with these brothers and can’t wait for all our future adventures together. Welcome to the family, boys!
