🧠 Meet Bruce | 2 yrs | 55 lbs ✨

Bruce is one smart cookie who loves to learn and work for treats. He already knows an impressive list of commands, including sit, shake (with both paws!), lay down, stay, and place. He walks beautifully on a leash, has great recall, and is highly treat-motivated, making him a dream training partner.

Beyond his brains, Bruce is incredibly sweet and gentle. He takes treats softly, isn't picky about snacks, and enjoys spending time with his people.

When it comes to other dogs, Bruce can be a little anxious and tends to be more of an observer than the life of the party. In playgroup, he was tolerant and respectful of the other dogs, preferring to watch rather than join in the action.

If you're looking for a loyal companion who already has a strong training foundation and a heart of gold, Bruce might be your perfect match. ❤️🐾

TEENS & PARENTS, Sup fam? — Looking for something meaningful to do with your teen this summer? Pet Circle Waco needs volunteers – and now, teens can join the mission! 🐶🐾

With over 200 animals on-site, volunteers are the heart of our shelter. Without them, it’s tough to keep up with daily care. This is where you – and your teen – come in!

✨ Teens 16 – 17 can now volunteer solo.
✨ Under 16? No cap – they can still help, with a parent present.

It’s an incredible opportunity to:
✔️ Teach responsibility and compassion
✔️ Help save lives
✔️ Earn community service hours (and maybe some cool stories to tell)

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS WITH RIZZ.

Remember Max Furzer? | 8 yrs | 46 lbs

Max is trying so hard. 🐾

Shelter life is scary for him, and while he’s still unsure, our team is taking it slow and giving him the patience he deserves. He’s a quiet boy who has already started to show his gentle side—he takes treats softly, knows “sit,” and really just wants to feel safe.

Max didn’t want to go back to his kennel, and honestly, we don’t blame him. He would greatly benefit from a calm, quiet foster home where he can decompress and learn to trust.

Oh—and did we mention he LOVES snacks? 💙

Meet Peggy | 4 yrs old | 17 lbs 💕🐾

Peggy has been through a lot — and somehow still has the gentlest, most loving heart.

This brave girl has an old pelvis injury, osteoarthritis, and a back foot injury, so she wears a little brace to help her get around. But don’t feel sorry for Peggy… because it certainly doesn’t slow her down. ✨ She’s thriving in her foster home and has officially completed her heartworm treatment!

Peggy takes a little time to warm up to new people, but once she trusts you, she is ALL IN. She forms deep bonds and turns into the cuddliest little lap dog you could ever ask for. Seriously — this girl’s favorite place is snuggled up next to her person. ❤️

She prefers a calm, quiet home, tolerates respectful kids, gets along well with dogs, and doesn’t mind cats either. Basically, Peggy is the total package for someone looking for a loyal companion and professional cuddle expert.

All she needs now is a forever home willing to give her the love and patience she deserves. 🏡

Over the past week, 51 animals have entered our shelter, but only 21 found homes. That means our kennels are filling up faster than we can make space.

Our staff is exhausted. Our animals are stressed. And we need our community's help.

Every adoption opens a lifesaving space for another animal in need. If you've been thinking about adding a furry family member, now is the perfect time to visit. Not ready to adopt? Sharing our posts, fostering, volunteering, or encouraging friends and family to stop by can make a huge difference.

CHIPCHECK --- Remember newspaper vending machines 📰? Well, we've repurposed one into a microchip scanner for pets! 🐶 🐱

We're partnering with the Waco Police Department for the first location, their headquarters at 3115 Pine Avenue. Any time, day or night, bring the lost pet by, scan them for a 'Chip Check' to see if their owner can be located, and follow the next steps on the box. Watch for more locations around town! (Remember, you can still visit any Waco Fire Station for a microchip check as well!)
