When starting young c**ts and training horses in general, confidence is one of the many things that we can't force a horse to have. You can encourage an insecure horse become curious, and build confidence from an inquisitive state of mind, but you can't teach a horse that is in a reactive/self preservation state, how to be confident. We are working with 1000 pounds+ prey animals, and mother nature instincts will always be stronger than any training aids.
