⭐ A Little Announcement! ⭐

I am proud to share that I will be running as a candidate for VICE PRESIDENT of the Lone Star Cavy Club 2027.

This hobby has brought so many wonderful people into my life, and I am grateful for the friendships, experiences, and opportunities it has given me. Being involved in this community has only strengthened my passion for cavies and my desire to give back to the hobby that means SO much.

I would be HONORED to serve my club in this role. I believe in supporting our members, encouraging newcomers, building community, and helping keep this hobby growing for future generations.

I am EXCITED for this next chapter and hopeful for the opportunity to serve LSCC as YOUR next Vice President.

I love how much they love their “pillows.” 💜🐽

What a fun cavy show! I was thrilled when Salazar’s Regina (TSW Satin American Sow) and Salazar’s Maverick (Dalmatian American Satin Boar - only about 3 months old) won BOB and BOSB in Mikey Franke’s Mid-Tex RBA Show but when they did it again in Jamie Hogan’s LSCC Pat Hogan Memorial Show I was truly jumping with joy. Salazar’s Regina went on to be 2nd Reserve in Show.

It was such a fun day with cavy friends celebrating Pat. Love this hobby and my piggies.🐽💜

As I reduce my numbers breeding pigs has been on the back burner. However, focusing on Dalmatians, Blacks, and Chocolates I realized two Satin Dalmatian boars just wouldn’t do.
Well, Walter and Marge understood the assignment.

Three beautiful babies:
American Black Sow
American Satin Dalmatian Sow
American Satin Dalmatian Boar

If only photos could capture their sheen. Thrilled to have these 3 new additions. 💜🐽⭐️

My sweet Clark unexpectedly passed away last night. I don’t admit to having favorites, but if I did he would be on the list. He was such a special guy - from his curly whiskers to his tolerance of nose boops. Clark, I hope that you and your best bud Bane are eating all the carrots in heaven. 🐽🥕🪽

ACBA Specialty 2026 — Cajuns, Cavies & Cowboys, hosted by the Lone Star Cavy Club, was one for the record books! This post comes a bit delayed because I needed some time to take it all in.

This was the first ACBA Specialty I have ever attended, and it’s an experience I will never forget. I am so proud to be an LSCC board member, working alongside true legends of the hobby. My small contribution was the photo booth—I hope you all enjoyed it!

Congratulations to all the winners, and a big thank you to the judges for carefully evaluating each animal. I was privileged to enter 10 cavies, representing four different breeds. I was especially proud of my Dalmatians—specifically my girl, Salazar’s Eleven.
• BOSV Specialty Show — Travis Finke
• BIV LSCC Show A — Mary Lou Eisel
• BOV LSCC Show B — Sara Buchanan

It was an honor to be surrounded by such beautiful animals and fierce competition. Above all, I truly enjoyed meeting so many wonderful people.

Until next time, my cavy friends! 🐽🤠🏆

A few photos from around the Caviary since it’s been a while. 😊🐽En route to ACBA Speciality, many more photos to come. 📷

Check out this little family. Two unrelated sows - Mercury and Josie with their 4 babies. Two teenager sows and two brand news snuggled in the back left corner. 🐽💕
