Archie is NOT amused by the LOOBANI puzzle feeder. 😂🧩

Our adorable Golden Retriever is pretty sure we’ve made snack time way too complicated. 😂

But there’s a purpose behind the puzzle!

Giving Archie time to figure it out helps him practice problem-solving, persistence, confidence, and working through a little frustration without us immediately jumping in to help.

🐾 Puppy Manners: Play With a Purpose!

After our puppies work on their basics, engagement, and connection with their people, it’s time for one of the best parts of class… puppy play! 🎉🐶

But even playtime has a lesson.

✨ Today’s lesson: Collar Grab = Stop, Reset… Then Maybe Go Play Again!

We practice calling puppies out of play, gently taking hold of their collar, rewarding them, letting them reset for a moment—and then releasing them right back to the fun.

Why?

Because we don’t want puppies learning:

🚫 “Recall means playtime is over.”
🚫 “Someone grabbing my collar means I’m in trouble.”

We want:

✅ “Coming when called pays!”
✅ “Hands on my collar are no big deal.”
✅ “I can pause, reconnect with my person, and then go have fun again.”

Recall doesn’t always end the party. Sometimes it’s just a quick pit stop! 🐾💛

That’s how we build puppies who are easier to call away from distractions when it really matters.

Our Intermediate Manners class wrapped up with a real-life challenge: doorbell → Place → Stay while you answer the door and grab that package.

Because expecting your dog to magically know what to do when the doorbell rings, someone is standing outside, and excitement is HIGH… isn’t really fair.

✨ Teach them before you need them to do it.

We practice the skills in controlled situations first, then gradually make them look more and more like real life.

That’s how training becomes more than “sit” and “stay”—it becomes manners you can actually use. 💛

“My dog walks great… until we go outside!” 😩🐾

That’s exactly why we build skills in layers.

For Session 2 of Wren’s Manners Glow Up Day Training, we took our Walk With Me practice from the arena to outside with minimal distractions.

When Wren loses connection, I use a Step-Back Reset ↩️ to give her another opportunity to reorient and check back in.

We’re not looking for a perfect heel. We’re teaching Wren that checking in and walking with me earns access to the things she wants — including sniffing!

✨ Meet Wren! ✨

Every dog has a story, and Wren’s journey is just beginning.

Like many friendly dogs, Wren gets so excited around people that she forgets her manners. Instead of simply trying to stop the behavior, we’re teaching her what to do instead—calm, polite greetings that help her succeed in the real world.

One thing that makes our training unique is that we don’t believe one size fits all. Dogs learn best through a combination of experiences. That’s why we offer training packages that combine group classes, private lessons, and day training.
When everyone is learning together, progress happens faster and the results last.

Wren wasn’t quite sure about hopping into my car, so I used one of my favorite little tricks…

I got in first.

Sometimes building confidence looks a little funny. We crawl into cars, make silly noises, celebrate tiny wins, and think outside the box to create positive experiences.

That’s what you hire a trainer for.

We figure out the creative, sometimes goofy, solutions that help your dog succeed—then we teach you the finished behavior so life is easier at home.

Training isn’t about forcing dogs to do things. It’s about making the right choice feel easy.

Way to go, Wren! ❤️🐾

Don’t scroll when you hear the barking… that’s the lesson. 🐶👇

Auggie and Nova aren’t barking because they’re scared—they’re barking because they’re hoping it will get my attention.

So what do we do?

I stay close, quiet, and calm. No talking. No correcting. No giving in.

At first, they protest. Then, little by little, they realize that calm behavior—not barking—is what works.

⏱️ About 15 minutes later, they’re both completely settled.

The best part? Every practice session gets easier. They learn that relaxing is safe, rewarding, and part of the routine.

Teaching a puppy to settle is just as important as teaching sit, down, or come. A dog that can relax is a dog that’s better prepared for everyday life.

✨ Calm earns attention. Barking doesn’t.

One moment Luna is happily playing… the next she suddenly stops and runs off. 👀

That quick change is one of those classic puppy potty cues!

Instead of waiting to see what happens, we quickly scooped her up, headed outside, and gave her the opportunity to succeed.

One of the biggest keys to successful potty training isn’t just taking your puppy out on a schedule—it’s learning to recognize their signals. Common signs include:
🐾 Suddenly stopping during play
🐾 Sniffing the floor
🐾 Circling
🐾 Wandering away from the action
🐾 Becoming restless

The sooner you recognize these clues, the more opportunities your puppy has to build the right habit.

Success comes from setting your puppy up to make the right choice. 💙🐶

Remi’s transformation isn’t just about staying calm—it’s about learning to trust.

When she first started training, new people often felt overwhelming, and her first response was to react.

Today, we walked through Home Depot surrounded by people, carts, and distractions. Even when she felt unsure, she didn’t have to figure it out alone. She chose to check in with me, trust my guidance, and keep moving forward with confidence.

That’s the goal of training.

Not to eliminate every moment of uncertainty, but to teach your dog that when life feels overwhelming, they can look to you for direction.

From reacting… to trusting. ❤️

That’s a transformation worth celebrating.
