Looking for a Loving Home for Kona 💛
This is one of the hardest decisions our family has made. After many conversations and tears, we’re looking for a new home for our sweet boy, Kona an 8-year-old, under-30-lb Basenji/Shiba Inu mix we’ve loved for the past five years.
Kona is loyal, expressive, and full of joy. He loves walks, sunbathing, chasing tennis balls, zoomies, car rides, and snuggling in your lap. He’s house-trained, calm, well-mannered, great on leash, and can stay home alone without anxiety. He’s healthy, up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped, and on regular flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
Kona thrives in a calm, child-free home as the only pet. Recently, he had a biting incident with our newly adopted 3-year-old daughter. He’s never shown issues before, but we believe he felt startled and overwhelmed. For everyone’s safety and happiness, he needs a home that matches his boundaries and temperament.
We love him deeply and want him to spend his life feeling safe, understood, and at ease. We hope to find him a home through personal connections rather than a shelter, or a reputable sanctuary where he can live peacefully.
