Just a little update on one of our senior intakes, Puddin aka Jello Puddin Pop, Puds and more! Why is it always the good ones that get dealt a bad hand. Puddin spent 10 years in one room separated from her other unfixed siblings in the house. She came to us with with a pyometra at 10 years old as well as mammary tumors that came back not good 😔 She has severe arthritis and 💩 ing problems most likely as a result of arthritis. Our girl is on monthly injections for her arthritis as well as two oral medications for her 💩 issues as well as her arthritis. She moved on in with the office boys for now and is eating all their food 🤣 Jarvhiss is less than thrilled about the invasion of his canned food! We would love to have Puddin move into a hospice home, rescue provides all of her meds. After living in one room for all those years it took quite some time to get her to even cross the line out of her room into the hallway but today she did it!!! She still won’t do stairs but I get it her knees don’t work well 🖤

It is with an overwhelming amount of joy I would like to announce that after a year and a half with us in rescue our teeny tiny little round momma cat, Jinx has found her home 👏 Jinx came to us with 5 little extra toed babies who were born on a night where the temp dropped to 14 degrees! Surprisingly her two sons are still with us. All the extra toes sisters found homes quickly. Our hope is someone will meet Midget no extra digits and Shoeless Joe and adopt them together as they are an amazing match. Midget… goofy, active and always into something. Shoeless Joe… reserved at first then all he wants is to be pet and loved on. Playful but not cray like his formerly runt of a brother.

I made a post a week or so ago looking for rescue assistance for way more kitties than I thought I could tackle. Honestly, I think every rescue is overloaded. But I forget that I have an amazing support system and freaking awesome friends! Undoubtedly, Laura Groharing Partlow has totally crossed over from crazy cat lady to addicted cat wrangler and rescuer! This cool arse chick not only recognized the situation, raised money to offset costs for them, started searching for homes for them, wrangled them as well as transported them to me at work!!! Coworker, friend and rescue partner Calla’s Critter Rescue accepted one of the momma cats as well as her younger babies into rescue, secured 5 appointments for spay/neuter for the first round of these kitties as well as donated a cool cage for the most fabulous independent rescuer and foster Amanda Miller Hippie paws cat sanctuary & TNR. Amanda did not hesitate to offer to help foster these guys after her current TNR project wraps up with our rescue partners Pottstown Paws Sheryl Miller Cat NAPS Of Pottstown - Adoptions & TNR !
Wednesday night Alexandria GD Calla Frame and myself Tracie Lynn under the guidance of our awesome vet Cindy DiBuono PAWS - Pottstown Animal Wellness Services provided testing, flea treatment, deworming, vaccines to each kitty going for spay neuter the following day! In twenty four hours this project costs estimated at 1600.00 for vaccines and testing, flea and ear mite treatments, two super large structures for quarantine and fostering, spay neuter for 5 kitties , microchips etc! There are still several friendly cats coming in from this location 😔 We have updated our wish list so we can help their foster with dry food and litter! We have so many loving and fantastic cats ready for homes ranging in age from 4 weeks old (not ready yet) to 19 years old!

Colony care is CONSTANT and costly… not only financially but physically and emotionally. Why do we do it you ask?! Because these lives are part of our community and they struggle just like any other being around us!
Not all of the colonies we care for have ideal conditions for care, housing and feeding so you must make do with what you have. Our rescue partner Sheryl Miller of Pottstown Paws and myself “inherited” and colony with a small area under two cars for housing and feeding. We have since provided much better feeding and shelter areas. This type of work is not just about daily feeding. It’s about maintaining their conditions, their shelters, monitoring for additional need for TNR, cleaning the property, providing a sandbox for appropriate elimination area so local businesses are accepting of their presence. Six months ago I purchased a very heavy duty, LARGE, and expensive tarp hoping it would stand up to the elements much longer than it did 😔 Yesterday we spent hours cleaning up their space… temporarily. Because I know we can not go into another winter like this! My goal is to get a small shed to place in their area. Not only will it be better for the cats but we can’t keep crawling under tarps in rain, snow, darkness and heat like we’ve been! GOALS and this one I must achieve for all involved!
