When Tiger’s Eye arrived at the VBSPCA in May, she wasn’t alone. She came with nine puppies who all needed care, time, and a safe place to grow.

From vaccines and preventatives to spay and neuter surgeries, this family needed the medical care they deserved. They also needed to stay with us until the puppies were old enough to be on their own and ready to find families.

Vet for the Day!

At our annual Wags & Whiskers Gala, guests have the opportunity to bid on special experiences, including a chance to be “Vet for the Day”! Sierra was the lucky winner and got to spend a day behind the scenes at our clinic.

She had the opportunity to observe a day in the life of our clinic team and learn more about what it’s like to be a shelter veterinarian. Sierra was so brave, curious, and excited to learn, and we were so happy to have her with us!

We love seeing young animal lovers learn about shelter medicine and develop an interest in caring for animals. Who knows? We may have a future veterinarian on our hands!

Back in May, we welcomed seven hounds who came to us from horrific circumstances. Since arriving at the VBSPCA, these dogs have overcome so much, and a few have already found their forever homes.

Fred, Tallboy, and Barrelboy are still waiting for theirs. These three are the sweetest boys and are ready to finally live the happy lives they deserve.

All three are heartworm positive, but thanks to PETA, the cost of their treatment is covered, and we’re able to provide their care right here at our clinic. They’ve already been through so much, and now they just need someone to give them a chance.

What a week! 30 animals found their forever homes: 3 birds, 19 cats, 5 dogs, and 3 small animals!

Mama guinea pig Pumpkin and two of her babies went home together, and Doris finally found her forever family after an incredible 399 days with us. We couldn’t have asked for a better week!
