🎉 30 Adoptions This Week! 🎉

Thanks to our amazing community, 30 animals found loving homes this week! That includes 10 dogs, 19 cats, and 1 small animal who all got the fresh start they deserve.

Every adoption creates space for another animal in need, and we couldn't do it without your support.

Meet Zeus! Zeus is a 3-year-old bully mix looking for a fresh start after having a rough time recently. Despite everything he has been through, Zeus has been an absolute love bug with our staff while recovering from his injuries.

At this time, Zeus will need to be the only pet in the home so he can continue building confidence and feel safe in his new environment. We also require any children in the home to be 10 and up.

Meet Milo. Milo is an adorable guinea pig looking for his forever home. While he may be a little shy at first, this sweet boy loves pets, fresh vegetables, and showing off his signature dance moves.

Show Milo a carrot and he’ll reward you with the cutest little spin move while he waits for his snack. He is very food motivated and always excited for veggie time.

Milo does well with children who can respect his boundaries, as he is not a huge fan of being picked up. He previously lived with another guinea pig and may enjoy having a new friend with slow introductions.

📚🐾 Tale for Two 🐾📚

Tale for Two is a VBSPCA reading program that pairs young readers with shelter pets! Children ages 6–13 can practice reading to our adoptable cats and dogs while helping provide comfort, companionship, and confidence to shelter animals.

📅 Wednesdays
⏰ 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Participants receive a punch card at their first visit, and after 5 visits they’ll earn a fun goody bag, a book, and a certificate! Children can bring their own books or choose one from the VBSPCA library.

Visits must be scheduled in advance. Join us for this pawsitive opportunity to read, connect, and make a difference!

Meet Mocha! This handsome Rhodesian Ridgeback mix is ready to find the loving forever family he deserves. After finding himself at the shelter through no fault of his own, Mocha is hoping for a fresh start filled with love, fun, and adventure!

Mocha is a playful, energetic boy who would thrive in a home that can keep both his mind and body active. He loves to play and has a big personality to match! Because he can get a little jumpy when excited, he would do best with children ages 10 and up.

Mocha has previously lived with another dog and has done well meeting canine friends here at the shelter. He enjoys energetic play and can be a bit vocal during all the excitement, so he’d love a dog companion that can match his playful spirit. Any resident dogs would need to come meet him first to make sure it’s the perfect match!

Another amazing week at the shelter!

We celebrated 38 adoptions including 16 dogs, 17 cats, and 5 small animals finding loving homes.

We are especially excited to share that some of our long-term residents finally found their forever homes! Franklin from the cattery, along with Feisty, Olive, and Pokie from the kennel, have all officially been adopted. Seeing these animals finally get the happy endings they deserve is what it is all about.

Thank you to everyone who adopted, shared posts, and supported our animals along the way!
