One of our followers allows us the joy of watching their dogs when they leave town. I woke up this morning with a rhyme in my head.

‘Twas the morning of Christmas
As I lie in my bed,
Six dogs flank me
From my feet to my head.

There’s darling little Posey
With her bottom lip stuck out.
The love in her eyes
Comes through that sweet pout

There’s excitable Clara
Who only wants attention.
Her constantly patting paw
Belies her intention.

There’s happy Harley
With her expressive gray eyes.
Just as beautiful as she is sweet,
And playful besides.

There’s tiny silly Tilley,
The tattle tale of our group.
When anyone starts something
Mama must be kept in the loop!

There’s rockin’ Reggie
Named for Sir Elton John.
Though he’s neurotic and clingy,
His love goes on and on.

Then there’s dear Anakin
Whose eyes will steal your soul.
His love for his people
Is deep, unending and whole.

Last but not least
Is the pup on the floor.
Her heart is larger,
Allowing her to love even more!

Precious Avery’s love abounds
To anyone on whom her eyes set.
A stranger is just a friend
She hasn’t met yet.

All of these personalities
Lead me to one conclusion.
The love of a dog
Is an endorphin infusion.

It’s unconditional and unending
It’s something special indeed.
That kind of love is the gift
That every person needs.

The babies are 11 weeks old today. They are eating dry puppy food and loving every second they get cuddled. Kahlan is a sweet girl that loves to give kisses. Richard is a playful boy that just wants to be with his humans 24/7. These two are going to make someone wonderful companions.

Even though the babies had me up at 5:30 it was totally worth it! Both of them had to p**p and wouldn’t do it in the smaller box where they sleep at night! Once that was done they were ready to raise the roof!
