Congratulations 🎉 to Connor on completing his second year of vet school. Dr. Bracy was proudly in attendance and honored to present Connor with his White Doctors coat. This ceremony celebrates both the halfway mark and the students progression from mostly academic study to clinical learning as they transition to caring for patients in the teaching hospital. Connor will rotate through neurology, cardiology, general practice and public health training this summer so he won't be back at IRVH for a while so help us show him some love and support from the tribe!

We wanted to proactively inform you the impending winter storm forecasted for our area may impact some appointments currently scheduled during the week of January 26, 2026.

At this time, all appointments remain scheduled as planned. However, due to potential road conditions and safety concerns, adjustments may be necessary depending on weather conditions.

As IRVH is closed over the weekend, we will directly contact any clients with appointments scheduled for Monday should rescheduling be required. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we continue to monitor the situation and prioritize the safety of our team and your pets.

If you have any urgent questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Its been a year IRVH family. As we reflect back on 2025, we've had our share of downs. But its a blessing to witness the true miracles of the season. Our newest clients, Siegrist family, had an early Christmas present this year. Another IRVH client, found their cat who had been missing since August. Yes you read that correct - 5 whole months. Ms. Kitty's not sharing how she got from Norfolk to Virginia Beach but thankfully she had a microchip placed when she was spayed which allowed us to reunite her with her family for a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS. We'd like to encourage every pet owner/parent to have your pet microchipped. Even if you think your pet will not get outdoors, it only takes a second before they're gone forever. We'd also like to thank the family for allowing us to share their story in an effort to raise awareness of the importance of microchipping your pets and keeping your contact information updated. We wish everyone a happy and safe New Year. See you in 2026! 🎉 🥂

Well our practice had a little accident today. We will be open business as usual tomorrow but in the days and weeks ahead as we reassess and rebuild there may be some scheduling changes so we ask for your understanding and compassion. And most of all thank God there were no injuries to pets or people.

We will have amended hours from September 15 to 19. Staff will be available portions of the day for medication and food pick-up and limited technician appointments. If you need to pick up prescriptions, please contact us if prior to arrival to confirm staff availability.
