🕷️ How Do We Size Our Spiderlings? We used the same spiderling and just enlarged it to show what certain sizes may look like below. Keep in mind that the 1" spiderling may not be as chunky as the one shown, but leg-span should go across the quarter.
📐Our spider packers measure spiderlings and count legs to ensure every one we ship is healthy and meets our strict standards.

🍩 WHO IS ADAM?! 🍩
Today a box of donuts mysteriously arrived at Fear Not Tarantulas with a note that they were “for the Fear Not team” — from someone named Adam.

We have no idea who Adam is… but Adam apparently knows the quickest way to earn the undying loyalty of the Fear Not crew. 😂

As you can see, we took our responsibility to properly inspect the donuts very seriously. Quality control is important around here.

So, Mystery Adam, wherever you are — THANK YOU! You absolutely made our day. ❤️🍩
And if you’re out there, identify yourself so we can thank you properly!

This was posted in Tarantula Talk but is a good reminder for everyone. 😎

🕷️ A Reminder: There’s a Human Being Behind Every Question

🌟 One thing I hope we never lose in this hobby is kindness.
Sometimes someone will post a question and, to an experienced keeper, the answer may seem obvious. Maybe they made a mistake. Maybe they should have researched more. Maybe they’re scared because something is going wrong and they don’t know what to do.

But before we respond harshly, it’s worth remembering that we don’t know the person on the other side of the screen.

⌛Years ago, I asked our Fear Not Tarantulas community a simple question:
“Why do you keep tarantulas?”
I was surprised by how many people shared that they struggle with anxiety, depression, loneliness, or other mental-health challenges.

👏 For many people, these animals—and the community surrounding them—provide comfort, fascination, purpose, and connection.

That has always stayed with me and brings me much fulfillment being part of that.

We can absolutely encourage good husbandry. We can correct misinformation. We can tell someone when something needs to change. But we can do all of those things without humiliating or attacking the person asking for help. 💜

None of us started out knowing everything. This hobby is constantly evolving, and even experienced keepers continue to learn from one another.

If someone comes here asking for help, I would much rather they feel comfortable asking than become afraid to ask the next time something is wrong. Please always report any comments that go against this as it will NOT be tolerated in the Tarantula Talk forum.

💜Educate. Encourage. Correct when necessary. But please, be kind.
Because at the end of the day, we’re not just raising spiders here.
We’re building a community. 💙🕷️
