Case Study: Bladder Stones 🩻

Sometimes, the answer is hiding just below the surface. This patient was evaluated for urinary concerns, and diagnostic imaging helped us take a closer look. Ultrasound and X-rays can help our veterinary team identify bladder stones, assess their size and location, and determine the appropriate next steps for the patient.

Bladder stones can cause discomfort and may be associated with signs like:
🐾 Frequent attempts to urinate
🐾 Straining or difficulty urinating
🐾 Blood in the urine
🐾 Accidents in the house
🐾 Licking around the urinary area

Difficulty or inability to urinate can be an emergency and should be evaluated right away. At Furgent Care, our in-house diagnostic capabilities help us get a clearer picture of what may be going on when something’s not quite right.

A quick oral exam can reveal important clues about your pet’s health - from dental disease and broken teeth to injuries, swelling, and other abnormalities.

Sometimes, a closer look can tell us a lot. 👀

A little eye gunk can be normal… but when is it something more?

From watery eyes to thick or unusual discharge, changes in your dog’s eyes can sometimes be a sign that something needs attention. Our newest blog breaks down what eye discharge can look like, what may be normal, and when it’s time to skip the wait and have your pup checked out.

🐾 Read “Eye Discharge in Dogs: What’s Normal, What’s Not, and When to Skip the Wait” on our website at furgentcarevet.com/blog.

What has Dr. Alex Larsen been up to?

When he’s not caring for patients at Furgent Care, Dr. Larsen has been sharing his veterinary and nutrition expertise beyond the clinic! He was recently featured as a veterinary expert in two articles from The Farmer’s Dog Digest, covering questions pet parents ask all the time:
🐶 How Often Should You Feed Your Dog? - from feeding schedules and routines to puppies, senior dogs, and individual health needs.
🐶 How to Help Your Dog Lose Weight - including body condition, treats, safe weight loss, exercise, and creating a healthy weight-management plan with your veterinarian.

We’re proud to have Dr. Larsen sharing his knowledge both inside and outside of the clinic! Check out both articles to learn more!
