As the temperatures heat up, it's important to make sure that your pet stays cool. Here are a few ways you can prevent and avoid serious heat exhaustion:
🔸 Avoid walks & outdoor play during the heat of the day
🔸 Ensure your pet always has access to fresh, cool water
🔸 Take breaks from the heat in the shade, on a cooling mat, in a pool, or in the AC
🔸 Monitor your pet for signs of overheating: heavy panting, excessive drool, lethargy, vomiting, or disorientation
Heat exhaustion can escalate to heatstroke quickly – if you notice any of these symptoms during time outside, bring your pet into Ally to get checked immediately.
