Hey VB! Warmer weather is on the way—let’s talk about dogs in cars!

As temperatures rise, even a quick trip to the store can heat up your vehicle faster than you think. On a 75-degree day, the inside of a car can reach over 100 degrees in just minutes—and that can be tough on your furry co-pilot.

A few things to remember:

Cracked windows don’t do much to keep it cool.

Dogs can overheat quickly—even if you’re only gone a few minutes.

If you’re running errands, it’s always safer to leave your pets at home where it’s nice and cool.

Our Animal Enforcement Team responds to calls like this throughout the summer and we’re here to help keep animals safe. Let’s all work together to make warm weather days safe and comfortable for everyone—especially our four-legged friends!
