Cats are thought of as independent creatures, but many cats love human company and some cats may even feel stressed when left alone...
Some separation anxiety behaviors include:
1. Excessive vocalization
2. Not eating or drinking – Refusing food or water while the owner is away.
3. Inappropriate elimination – Urinating or defecating outside the litter box.
4. Vomiting – Hair often present in the vomit.
5. Excessive grooming – Over-licking or pulling out fur due to stress.
6. Destructive behavior – Scratching furniture, knocking over objects, or other destructive actions.
How to Help a Cat with Separation Anxiety
🐾Provide perches – Let your cat observe the outside world from a safe spot.
🐾Offer interactive toys – Puzzle feeders, treat-dispensing toys, or motion-activated toys keep them engaged.
🐾Encourage hunting behavior – Hide small amounts of food around the house or use food-dispensing toys.
🐾Leave familiar sounds – Keep the TV or radio on to create background noise.
🐾Create a safe space – Provide a cozy refuge with blankets, a hiding spot, or a cat tree.
🐾Daily playtime – Spend at least 10 minutes each day engaging with your cat to strengthen your bond.

Cat Water Fountains Are a Game-Changer!
Cats are naturally drawn to moving water because in the wild, running water is often fresher and safer than stagnant sources. Cat water fountains tap into that instinct, encouraging better hydration and supporting overall health.
💦Many cats don’t drink enough water on their own, especially if they eat primarily dry food. Proper hydration is essential for kidney health, urinary tract health, digestion, and overall wellbeing.
💦Why Water Fountains Are SO Good for Cats
✔️ Encourage increased water intake
✔️ Support kidney and urinary health
✔️ Keep water fresher and more appealing
✔️ Reduce the risk of dehydration-related issues
✔️ Provide enrichment through sight, sound, and movement

There truly are benefits to owning multiple cats...
🐾 Cats are social creatures, another cat will reduce boredom and separation anxiety.
🐾Multiple cats chase and play-fight which burns energy and decreases destructive behavior like scratching furniture.
🐾Regular play keeps them active, reducing the risk of obesity and overall health concerns.
🐾A new cat or kitten is often less stressed and adjusts faster to the new home when they have another companion for comfort.

It’s kitten season, and while those tiny babies may look alone and in need of help… most of the time, mom is nearby 💛
😾What NOT to do:
Don’t immediately pick up or remove kittens from where you find them.
😺What TO do:
🐾 Watch from a distance—mom is likely out finding food
🐾Give it a few hours—she will usually return
🐾 Only intervene if kittens are sick, injured, or in immediate danger
Removing kittens too soon:
🐾 Takes them away from their best caregiver (mom!)
🐾Can actually lower their chances of survival
🐾 Adds to already overcrowded shelters
🐾 The best way to help? Leave them with mom when it’s safe.
