The Animal Refuge Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that serves Hardin and surrounding counties in Kentucky. ARC shelters animals and acts as an adoption agency, finding loving homes for all in its care. The Animal Refuge Center has a mission to educate on the humane treatment of animals and assist in finding spay/neuter solutions for the public.

The Animal Refuge Center wants to send a big THANK YOU to Gretel from Ms Honey Bee's Grooming Co. for taking the time to give our Maine C**n boys Max and Leo a well deserved day the spa. It took Gretel 6 hours to shave and bathe to make these boys feel better. We are so grateful for all she does for the animals in ARCs care.
We know that they are handsome boys and a lot of intrest will come their way but at this time we are still in the process of socializing them. They are very nervous and need time to decompress before their true personalities can seen!

🐾 FOSTER FRIDAY 🐾 (sorry it's late)

These sweet babes are being fostered by Miss Jenny. None of these babes are ready for adoption, as they need extra time & patience to learn humans are safe.

Here's what she says about them:

Rolly (1st pic) - he is very loving, does not like sharing attention. Hates when your on your phone and he needs pets. He loves playing with other cats and is very unsure of babies at the moment..lol

Phil (2nd pic) - He is very skittish. Just starting to warm up to pets, but is still very cautious. He loves tuna.

Monet - Its hard to get a good Pic of her. She is super skittish. You get a glimpse of her as she runs out of the room when you walk in.

We need the communities support!

These last couple weeks have been rough for the kitties. Many have made trips to Etown Animal Hospital, as well as a few emergency vet trips to Louisville.

Meanwhile inside ARC... Tug got a boat!

Tug was one of the "Boat Litter" a couple of years ago and was adopted out. Unfortunately, he and the resident kitty didn't get along over the years, so he had to come back to ARC. He seems to be okay with some kitties and not with others, but likes to have his space. However, he absolutely loves kids! From his previous family, he is "bomb proof with kids"!

Have little ones that want a lovable and super fun kitty? Come met Tug... if you're lucky, he may take you out on his new boat!

HEAT ADVISORY!!! It will be HOT the next couple of days, so be like Kane and stay cool!

Be sure to provide lots of fresh, cool water, shade and food to pets and other animals you may be caring for! If you can bring them inside, please do! And NEVER leave them inside a car!

**Please note that Kane's pool water was fresh and crystal clear moments before he decided to get zoomies through the mud and then go swimming... It was refreshed post-swim as well! We practice what we preach here at ARC!
