Ember Paws Dog Training provides specialized and individualized private care boarding in our home. We understand your dogs are your family, and my goal has always been to be a second home for your pups while you’re away. That being said, because we prioritize safety and comfort, we do not have the ability to take on more than one family at a time for boarding or board and trains. I know my limits and I want to be sure that I can provide equal and proper care to not only my own dogs but our boarding dogs, while also maintaining a positive and most of all SAFE environment for all dogs.
For those who may not know, I am a pet professional that is certified, licensed, and properly insured. I have nearly two decades of pet sitting experience, I am one of the only pet sitters and trainers in the area that is Pet CPR/ First Aid Certified. I spent years studying animal science and behavior with certificates to prove it on top of having several years of veterinary experience, and many more years of experience training dogs to very high levels. This is my full time job that I’ve dedicated years of my life for, because I truly love dogs and working with them in any capacity.
I want to be able to continue this little dream of mine, but long before we moved to Kentucky, I started feeling the effects of severe burnout and compassion fatigue. I thought after 9 months off for our move, it would improve, but unfortunately with several clients treating me like a doormat, I am very close to calling it quits in all aspects of Ember Paws. At the end of the day, I am only one person, the only one running this business. I also have a family and my own dogs on top of trying to manage multiple debilitating chronic illnesses. If I cannot properly care for myself and my family, I cannot properly care for your pups. All I ask is for your respect for the policies we have in place as they are in place for a reason.
So just as a reminder:
* Our business hours are from 9am-5pm Tuesday-Saturday. Effective immediately, I will no longer be responding to messages or answering calls before or after hours unless there is a true emergency.
* Absolutely no trespassing. Do not show up to our property unannounced and without having an appointment booked.
* Do not ask for me to lower my prices. While we have tried our best to be as accommodating as possible, each and every time I have offered discounted services or payment plans, I have been burned. From here on out, my prices are my prices, I already charge the lowest possible rate I can, and it barely covers our operating expenses. We are a very small business, not a corporation and we have no room in our budget to offer discounts.
* I will now require a non refundable deposit of 50% of your quoted boarding rate at the time of booking. Your dates will not be booked until the deposit is paid. The other 50% is due at the time of drop off.
* I am and will continue to be incredibly selective of dogs I take on for boarding. I will not tolerate dogs who are aggressive, dogs that lack boundaries, dogs that mark or are not potty trained for regular boarding. They will require a board and train and will be charged accordingly, no exceptions.
* Proof of current vaccinations (rabies, bordatella, distemper, parvo), flea, tick and heartworm prevention as well as a negative f***l test administered by a veterinarian, is required within two weeks of your scheduled drop off date. I do not mess around with the health and wellbeing of any dog in my care. I will not accept titer results instead of vaccinations, absolutely no exceptions.
* THIS IS OUR HOME first and foremost, not a boarding kennel. Please be respectful. If you cannot respect our policies, services will be terminated immediately with no refund.
