I know many have followed the posts about this girl and the efforts to try and catch her. I was so glad to get the call that some dedicated people had finally caught her and she was now in the care of Vincennes Animal Shelter and immediately said absolutely, bring her on over!
Thursday night after getting our scheduled pups done, we began working to get this sweet baby cleaned up. She was full of big, dense mats and mud and cockleburs and who knows what else. This was by far the worst I’ve ever seen.
We removed over 11lbs of dirty, matted hair. You never know what’s under all of that mess when getting started and thankfully, other than being thin and a few minor scrapes and sores she appeared to be okay.
In a matter of just a few hours, she was like a totally different dog. She was full of tail wags and was just longing for attention. The dog that had ran from everyone and avoided being caught for weeks was following us around willingly and soaking up all the love and attention she could get. You could definitely tell that she was relieved and that she knew she was safe now. If only she could talk and tell her story.
