Did your dog crack a tooth on a bone, a rock, or that one toy they love a little too much? A fractured or damaged tooth is more than a cosmetic issue, it can cause real pain, open the door to infection, and make everyday joys like eating and playing uncomfortable. And because pets are experts at hiding discomfort, that damaged tooth is often hurting more than you realize.

At Animal Dental Clinic, dental repair is all about saving the natural tooth whenever possible instead of removing it. Our team starts with a thorough oral evaluation and digital dental radiographs to check the roots and surrounding bone, and we use CBCT scans on every patient for a complete, three-dimensional picture. After a complete cleaning to remove tartar, plaque, and bacteria, we use modern restorative techniques like dental bonding and fillings to rebuild the structure and function of the damaged tooth. The result is a stronger, healthier tooth and a far more comfortable pet. 🐾

Every tooth we save is a little more comfort your pet gets to keep.

Has your pet been dealing with a mouth problem that just doesn't have a clear answer? Maybe there's swelling, sensitivity, or discomfort, but standard exams keep coming up short. Some of the most painful oral conditions in dogs and cats hide deep below the gumline, where traditional imaging simply can't reach. For pet parents, not knowing is often the hardest part.

At Animal Dental Clinic, our in-house CBCT scanner creates detailed 3D images of your pet's teeth, jaws, and surrounding structures, revealing root fractures, tooth resorption, bone loss, and even oral tumors that might otherwise go unnoticed. Your pet is kept calm and comfortable with gentle, tailored sedation while we capture the images, and Dr. Hall, a board-certified veterinary dentist, personally reviews each case to plan the most precise treatment possible. It's non-invasive, low-stress, and gives our team the diagnostic confidence your pet deserves. 🔍

When we can finally see the whole picture, real healing can begin.

They'll keep eating. They'll keep wagging. Survival instinct tells them to carry on, even with a broken tooth or an aching jaw. The signs are quiet: chewing on one side, dropping kibble, playing a little less, sleeping a little more. 🤍

The most rewarding part of our work? Hearing pet parents say, 'I had no idea how much pain they were in, they're a whole new pet now.'

They hide it because they love you. Finding it is how we love them back.

📞 If something seems off, trust your gut, call (703) 281-5900.

Pets rarely cry out from oral pain, instead, they whisper. Watch for: 1) persistent bad breath, 2) chewing on one side or dropping food, 3) pawing at the face or drooling, 4) avoiding toys or hard kibble, and 5) red, swollen, or bleeding gums. 👀

Any one of these is worth a professional look. Oral pain doesn't go away on its own, but it is very treatable.

When in doubt, check it out. Their comfort is worth it.

Did you know? The majority of dogs and cats show signs of periodontal disease by age three. It starts quietly — a little plaque, a little tartar, and progresses to painful gum infection, bone loss, and loose teeth. And because pets instinctively hide pain, most parents never see it coming. 🦷

The earlier periodontal disease is caught, the simpler (and gentler) the treatment. A professional oral exam with full mouth intraoral radiographs can reveal what's really going on beneath the surface.
Three years old is not too young for a dental checkup. It's right on time. And we see puppies and kittens too — it's never too early to start.

Hamilton (9 yo Mini Dachshund) came in for an oral evaluation. He needed extractions and 2 oronasal fistual repairs. He was such a good boy. He was all healed by his 2 week recheck. His human said we've spoiled him with love and attention the whole time. He absolutely deserved it. 🥰
